Gotta put in Conjurer's Closet . You can squeeze a few extra draws out of your commander.

supercaptainpow Nice idea! I'm going to look for that one :)

Kruphix, God of Horizons would work rather well in this deck, I think.

@canterlotguardian That is so true, awesome way of getting rid of that annoying hand size like with Praetor's Counsel and Reliquary Tower . Also stacking that mana will be great! Thanks for the tip :)

I've been thinking about turning my Simic Standard deck into an EDH once RTR cycles out and this has given me some cool ideas!

I would consider changing your Commander to Vorel of the Hull Clade , because he has a repeatable ability that can make your hydras even more huge (especially if you can untap him with the like of Kiora's Follower , Prophet of Kruphix , etc.) Prime Speaker Zegana isn't that useful once she's in play and if your hydras are too big once she comes in, there's a real danger of milling through your deck too quickly. Deffo up to you, though.

Also, if you can splash the cash, Kiora, the Crashing Wave would be cool. Who doesn't love Krakens!?

Rad list, though--+1

Also, I would add in some more land/ramp as your CMCs are gonna be pretty high and 35 doesn't seem quite enough. It might be good to get your hands on some more hexproof/shroud, too, because those massive hydras are gonna be serious targets for removal.

@HeartSwells You got some good points there!About the Commander thing. In fact I have been testing Vorel of the Hull Clade too. It sure gives nice variation to the play style but in games where I use him I find myself graving for cards. I think he would work much better if I would change my decklist a little adding something like Soul of the Harvest ect.

The fact that I like Prime Speaker Zegana so much is that she gives nice card advantage and I can draw to one or two counterspells to counter the removals. Also I think card draw is the strongest ability in MTG.

About the milling through deck with Prime Speaker Zegana . That is true, in every game I have to be very careful when casting her. I have had few scenarios where I could not cast her because of that but in most of the games I get like 10-50 cards out of her and sometimes make her unblockable with Rogue's Passage or Champion of Lambholt and burst people with Commander damage.

I personally haven't had problems with my landbase or ramp but I'm considering about adding few ramp cards for example Boundless Realms .

About the hexproof question. Yeah, that is true. My hydras are big red flashing lights asking for removal. Two days ago I added Archetype of Endurance just to get some extra protection. It still doesn't seem to be enough because of the amount of mass removal spells my friends play. Only chance against like Terminus or Wrath of God are my counterspells. That is why I have been considering Glen Elendra Archmage What do you think?

Yeah and Kiora, the Crashing Wave is something I am going to look in to and Kiora's Follower works well with Vorel of the Hull Clade I know that but I'm still sticking for Prime Speaker Zegana as Commander for now.

It's nice to hear my deck has given you some cool ideas :) Thanks for the +1 though!!

@Yoshi400x7 Hmm, the problem is not about me not having hexproof. Its my creatures who need protection.

If you pick up Dryad Arbor you can cast green sun on turn 1 as a ramp spell.

@essiga9 Haha! I didn't know about that. It seems pretty fun to play and I think I could add it :)

Nylea, God of the Hunt may not be a terrible choice just to be able to buff up some of your creatures

@nsdocholiday Yeah, Nylea might be good. I consider switching Predator Ooze for it if I get my hands on Nylea, God of the Hunt

Any wizard tribal deck has to have riptide laboratory, cause who said bouncing zegana back for major card draw isn't nice?

Saitam says... #18

@allthingsMTG True, Riptide Laboratory will be useful!

Hey, I think you should put in more ramp. Especially if you want to use your counter spells you have to keep some lands untapped, which makes it difficult to put out creatures in the early game.

Maybe you should put in Rampant Growth Magus of the Library and there is another enchantment for which allows you to play more lands + Journey of Discovery
