Maybeboard

A Nahiri Equipment deck running through iterations with different cards to see what I like and don't like overall. Overarching goal is relatively simple, establish a resilient presence with utility creatures and Hatebears to wear opponents down with mini-Voltrons.

Thoughts Moving Forward

Mainly trying to analyze and refine to find that "perfect balance" in terms of each card type. Has been frustratingly difficult with Equipment decks given that some games flood equipment while others flood utility. The Maybeboard represents possible inclusions in the deck. Thoughts on them below.

Giver of Runes - Protection of color/colorless to a creature for offense or defense vs. Devoted Caretaker's anti-instant/sorcery point removal.

Expensive Upgrades

These I want to add one day, but I've gotta pace these out.

Ancient Tomb - Probably should. Ramp is good I hear.

Mana Crypt - See above.

Masterwork of Ingenuity - Requires another good equipment to really be strong, but is cheap on CMC.

Devoted Caretaker - Can protect my Artifacts and Enchants from point removal, might not be as universally useful as other options. vs. Giver of Runes.

Inspiring Statuary - Needs testing to see how bonkers it is with Equipment.

Version X+2 Adjustments: IN PROGRESS

Adds:

+Esper Sentinel - Another card draw engine, especially with even minor pumps from a Sword.
+Mox Opal - Fast mana.
+Armored Skyhunter - Dig for Equipment and cheat it out.
+Sword of Hearth and Home - Does what I wanted Blade of Selves to do, but isn't dead without a strong ETB.
+Archaeomancer's Map - Trying to get lands into play as ramp, something Land Tax couldn't do.
+Keeper of the Accord - Sort of same as above.
+Flagstones of Trokair - I mean... I guess free in case of mass land destruction?
+Buried Ruin - A little bit of extra recursion never hurt.
+Winds of Abandon - Versatile wipe that can exile most importantly.
+Sun Titan - A big body with tons of recursion potential.
+Darksteel Citadel - Might help Metalcraft and survive opposing Mass Land Destruction/Artifact Removal.

Drops:

-Hushbringer - Nice body, but does actually hurt me as well.
-Everflowing Chalice - From when I had Proliferate.
-Indomitable Archangel - All my stuff having Shroud is nice, but single target removal of Equipment isn't usually the problem.
-Heirloom Blade - A little too random in terms of replacing creatures.
-Scroll Rack - This seems strong when it's strong, but it's a dead draw when running out of gas or without adequate shuffling.
-Land Tax - See Archaeomancer's Map.
-Tragic Arrogance - Super strong on paper... but in practice has always felt underperforming. I need to get rid of their only creature or I destroy too much of my own Equipment board.
-Weathered Wayfarer - Too slow for the effect.
-Plains - See Buried Ruin.
-Plains - See Flagstones of Trokair.
-Plains - See Darksteel Citadel.
