mitchellx7, I've found it fairly decent in multiplayer. My store's meta has been moving in a combo direction, so I find myself having to use my combos to win more and more often, which means less and less of actually using Olivia. :( But, it's still a decent deck. As for Master of Cruelties, I initially considered it, but it was kind of bored by it, to be honest. So, I ditched it. That being said, it is a pretty decent card.
Calanor, as you've noted Sudden Spoiling is pretty decent. haha! It allows me to easily handle indestructible creatures and those with ridiculous activated abilities. I run both Cairn Wanderer and Leyline of the Void because I don't always draw both of them in the same game, because that's how variance works. Additionally, my graveyard still exists from which to pull abilities.

So your combo with Sanguine Bond & Exquisite Blood... does that create an infinite loop?
March 2, 2015 10:06 p.m.
cchron1907, sort of. It does create a loop through which I can kill every other player and win. But, it's not of the infinite variety that draws the game.

No nykthos? You can already be generating ridiculous amounts of mana but nykthos could do wonders woth your double and triple blacks right?
April 14, 2015 3:42 p.m.
BFG, the primary reason that Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx isn't in there is because I don't own one. haha! I'll probably pick one up once it rotates out of standard. Thanks for the suggestion!

ApocryphalSaint, primarily to reset the top of the deck for Vampire Nocturnus, but it can also be helpful to re-disperse my creatures in the event of an unfortunate Terminus. Plus, I don't really need fast red mana too early, so it coming into play tapped doesn't hurt me too much. Thanks for asking!

I'm rather surprised not to see Mephidross Vampire here. It protects all your guys from Anowan, the Ruin Sage and gives them your lord bonuses at no additional mana investment, and it makes Olivia's ping ability even more ridiculous.
May 23, 2015 3:41 p.m.
TheFanatic, good ole Mephi was in here at the beginning and just came out within the last 3 months. I just did not find him as impactful and exciting to draw as my other 6-drops, like Nirkana Revenant and Necropolis Regent. Plus, it makes people think that you have Triskelion in your 99. That being said, I hadn't thought of his interaction with Olivia Voldaren... I'll definitely be reevaluating his inclusion next time I make changes to the deck. Thanks for the feedback! Also, your Roon deck is nasty (as most seem to be...he's janky), but I particularly love The Wonderful World of Wort.

I would like to see Butcher of Malakir here. You dont sac that much but he's amazing removal deterrent.
May 26, 2015 9:37 a.m.
Steaditup, the Butcher, too, used to be in the deck. Every time I pass him in my binder, I consider throwing him back in. I think I may be putting Attrition back in, which would definitely call for a return of the Butcher of Malakir. Thanks for the suggestion!

im pretty sure bloodthirst is a enter the battlefield ability and won't trigger if you have topor orb. so just be careful when play both cards.
June 22, 2015 6:35 p.m.
Em0B0b, I was actually worried about that, so I looked it up before including Torpor Orb! Bloodthirst is not an ETB. Similar to clones entering the battlefield as their copied creature, a Bloodthirst-ed creature actually enters the battlefield with the counters. Thanks for the word of caution, though!

Have you started looking at updates you'd like to make with the release of Magic Origins?
I'd like to suggest Dark Petition as a replacement for Diabolic Tutor. At worst, it costs one more than Diabolic Tutor also at sorcery speed, but if you have Spell Mastery (which shouldn't be super hard in a deck with close to 20 instant/sorceries), it refunds you three mana, which would allow you to cast a tutored Anowon, Vampire Nighthawk, Captivating Vampire, Dark Imposter, Urza's Incubator, Sword of Feast and Famine, Quietus Spike, and a billion other high value three drops that are absolutely great.
I think it would be worth the pickup, and I would highly recommend the card, because it is almost strictly better than Diabolic Tutor.

That's a great thought, Tuft! I hadn't looked too closely at things yet, but I agree with your assessment. Conveniently, Dark Petition was the promo card in my prerelease pack for the event I attended! I'll slide it in and see how it goes.

My B/R edh deck is Goblin tribal, so a lot of stuff won't apply here, but I figure I can give my two cents on a few universal things.
Dismember, Attrition and Terminate seem better to me than Slaughter, but I think that might be a preference thing. 4 mana + 4 life seems like a lot just to get something dead, I think.
Worse since the rule change, but Chaos Warp is still a viable answer to pesky enchantments.
Burn at the Stake sometimes helps me blow up pillow forts, though again I think it's usefulness sort of dependent on your playgroup.
Obelisk of Urd, Door of Destinies or Coat of Arms, maybe? If you're the only tribal around, then it'd be Coat, otherwise Obelisk or Door for faster or slower anthem, respectively.
July 23, 2015 1:30 p.m.
alecm, thanks for the suggestions! I also thoroughly enjoyed checking out Wort's goblin fun explosion bouncy castle ACTIVATE. My issues with Attrition, Burn at the Stake and the Coat of Arms effects are that I only have 20 creatures in the deck. I generally don't have more than 4 creatures in play, unless I get super aggressive with Olivia Voldaren's mind control ability. Door of Destinies might actually be good again in the deck (it, along with Attrition used to have homes here). I use Slaughter because I generally get a good amount of life gain going on. So, I'd rather trade a bit of life to have a recurring removal card, even if it's a "bad" spell. It hadn't even occurred to me that Chaos Warp takes care of enchantments... I'm going to have to pick up a copy. Thanks!

Nevinyrral's Disk is a great way to deal with enchantments man. Yes it kills your stuff too but it's great if you are in a bind and you don't HAVE to activate it. also Darksteel Plate to protect olivia. It also helps with nev disk:)

I feel like I should point out that Sorin Markov doesn't insta-kill with Wound Reflection because Sorin doesn't actually cause people to lose life
September 28, 2015 2:11 p.m.
Actually, he does:
118.5. If an effect sets a players life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total.

Illusionist's Bracers seems to work well with Olivia Voldaren. Be it for drawing blood, killing with deathtouch, gaining control, or otherwise, twice for the price of once seems like a good deal.

I myself have been playing an Olivia Voldaren vampire tribal deck for years now. I have to say both of our deck lists are very similiar and seem to function the same. Cards I would recommend, first off I would try to get ahold of Command Beacon. Olivia dies very often and is a prime target for spot removal. Sometimes you have got to cheat her into play and this card helps with that in the late game. Kolaghan's Command is very good in commander. Killing a small mana dork early game to finishing off a planeswalker that just minused itself is fine. Destroying a troublesome artifact and returning a Dimir House Guard after transmuting it to transmute again is great value. Crypt Ghast is another Nirkana Revenant and I find that extort can save you in a game especially when alot of the damage is self inflicted. Having a Chromatic Lantern out with either Crypt Ghast or Nirkana Revenant and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth means you can tap a single land and ping a bunch of creatures with Olivia's first ability. A combo for this deck that I find amusing once in a while is Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Kormus Bell and Massacre Wurm. It kills off all your opponents lands effectively ending the game and to add insult to injury, each opponent is taking damage for each land/creature that dies. If you want to check out my decklist, my deck is called She's a Killer Queen.
