mostly creature based fun stuff

After trying and loving Marchesa Aikido, I wanted a different sort of deck that still had the goal of using opponent resources against them. Enter Volrath & clones

The goal is mainly to clone nice creature from opponents, with volrath voltron not being the main goal, but just an alternative. There isn't much support for the card itself, only things which benefit the rest of the deck already and end up having good synergy with the rest of the deck. As such, while volrath himself can't use those, there are a few etb creatures in the mix that are great to clone, as well as creatures with triggers on attack or other, to still have great targets for volrath himself to clone.

I'm still working on getting a good balance of clone effects, value creatures, and aikido / pillowfort / rattlesnake cards for the deck to work nicely, while still having an heavy emphasis on the clone theme.

Since there isn't much things spreading out counters everywhere, be it poison, +1/+1, -1/-1, or others, there isn't much use to proliferate or the ozolithe. While there isn't much, there should already be just enough counter distribution with volrath + the few other cards around, along with most opponents already using a few things to build up counters by themselves, that not a lot of cards need to be there at all to make good use of volrath's clone effects. Going too ham on counters everywhere will make opponents fear and remove volrath all the time when I'd rather have it there loking pretty and being part of a whole rather then being the biggest wincon.

Still looking into cutting cards and haven't yet playtested. Cards I'm really wondering about but won't be testing yet are in the sideboard. Some of those are there for budget reason seeing as my group, even when using proxy, still have reasonable budget when constructing decks.

The inspiration for how I will use and pilot the deck is from here: https://www.mtgnexus.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=35062 I'm unlikely to end up with an exact copy of his deck, but I do believe it was a great deck to start editing and changing to my taste.
