@SenseLess-Management.Inc - Because I like Mind Over Matter better. I ran Forced Fruition and it was fun, but Mind Over Matter is much easier to control the board with and force a win when I need it. If they already have a board-state to kill me, then they can just not play spells and keep swinging after I play Forced Fruition. It makes me target number once in a multiplayer game. Plus, Mind Over Matter has really good interactions with Temple Bell (wins the game) and Mesmeric Orb.

Well how about that, stone-less milling FTW. Maybe Otherworld Atlas in place of Temple Bell?

@mpeg1740 - That extra 1 CMC on Otherworld Atlas makes a difference. You also can't actually draw from it the turn it comes down. So its 1 CMC higher and 1 turn slower. Temple Bell can trigger a near infinite combo with Mind Over Matter the turn it comes out.

In a deck like this, Sphinx's Tutelage is great, it speeds things up quite a bit. Also, it combos very well with the Eldrazi, which--like everyone else--I think would fit perfectly into this deck.

Have you considered Laboratory Maniac, Jace's Erasure, or one of my favorites Psychosis Crawler. Looks like fun though. I love winning buy making your opponents draw cards (Blue Sun's Zenith for lethal is so much fun). +1 for Mind Over Matter. Just a side note Otherworld Atlas plus Mind Over Matter makes it happen the turn it comes out, and draw multiple cards off of each activation.

Otherworld Atlas does not enter the battlefield with a charge counter. So the turn it comes into play you have to activate the first trigger in order to use the second trigger in the future. Psychosis Crawler could be fun but he would be the only creature in the deck, meaning he would be an easy target for removal that would have been dead in their hands otherwise. He's also 5 CMC which is huge. Sphinx's Tutelage is interesting, though it would make me a bit of a target in team games. I've considered it but I'm not sure.

That is true but here is what I am saying
1) Atlas enters the battlefield-tap for a counter
2) discard a card to mind over matter
3) untap the atlas
4) Tap the atlas for another counter
5) repeat for the number of cards in your hand minus 1
6) discard the last card then tap the atlas to draw a new hand of cards.
7) your atlas can now force everyone to draw 6 or 7 cards every time you activate it.
In fact it is almost for splashing white or green and playing Wheel of Sun and Moon so you could literally go infinite with the cards you already have.

titanreaver - True, it does work out for the combo; hadn't thought of it that way. However its higher CMC and less immediate benefits without both combo pieces down.

@Mirrid - Black Vise is just an alternate win-con. This deck wants to win by milling most games. No Brainstorm because I have more than enough draw without draw that targets only me. There also isn't really any room.

I just got one question...
Would splashing white for Spirit of the Labyrinth be worth against FoW decks and combo decks?
November 11, 2015 12:01 p.m.
@Knighttiger101 - I'm not sure how Spirit of the Labyrinth would be helpful against combo decks. I guess it would stop them from drawing so quickly into a combo, but it would completely destroy my main win-con as well. Remember that this is a casual multi-player deck. I don't really ever play against Force of Will and I have ways of stopping a lot of different types of combos, but some combos can get through, that's for sure.

Four Sphinx's Tut would shore up win cons, also so would Psychosis Crawler.
I just think giving a combo 20 more draws to draw the combo doesn't seem too good.

Reliquary Tower? 1 just to be safe i think would help
October 27, 2018 2:59 p.m.
@ninja988 - I actually just very recently took out 1x Reliquary Tower. After using it for a long time, I've found that I would rather discard to 7 than keep my hand full and run the risk of drawing more cards than are in my library. Being able to keep my library large is pretty necessary, it shows the most when I try to sac Toothy, Imaginary Friend for say 15, and am unable to because I don't have 15 cards in my library. Mind Over Matter is there to solve this, but it is just a singleton.

Really cool deck.Considered Psychic Spiral? Mainly for protecting from combo breakers.Extirpate for example could really hurt you if one of the elixirs would get to the graveyard. another shuffler could be a good rescue
