I was looking to build myself a Boros EDH deck after building my son one for Christmas. His deck was built around Iroas and looks to pump out soldiers and soldier tokens. So I knew I did not want that to be what my Boros deck would do. But there was nothing that looked interesting to me. Then literally the next day after looking at my options, the accidental spoilers for Dominaria dropped, and shining there like a diamond in my path was Firesong and Sunspeaker. I knew that they would be my General.

And now that F&S is here on tappedout I can finally start building and uploading.

My first inclination is to go for cheap white life gain spells that do something else as well, this way I get an effect, gain life, and deal damage all for the low low price of.... I also wanted recursion to be a thing but that for WR that is not always a thing, so I looked for spells with some form of recursion/replayability.

Then I wanted BIG red burners, like Star of Extinction which if I have Akroma's Memorial on the field is just hilarious. Then I wanted red pumpers like the Fire Servant to really get things going.
