vault that doesn't sound half bad, considering there are plenty of 3 drops as is...

Pretty good concept. Shaman of the Pack also caught my eye, and I think GB CoCo Elves could turn into a pretty good modern staple. I have a few thoughts on your build though. There's lots of black removal spells out there you might consider using, but Gnarlroot Trapper may end up doing an okay job - in any case, you may want to supplement Abrupt Decay with some other control stuff . Maelstrom Pulse is a fantastic sideboard option in Modern, I highly recommend it for any GB deck. And finally, and unfortunately, some bad news: I like Elvish Champion, but I think you're deploying it incorrectly. It's good against a lot of decks, but not in the mirror match, as it affects all Elves, not just those you control. You might consider going with Imperious Perfect or Joraga Warcaller instead. Good luck!

formayorgood catch on the champion. What do you think of bow of nylea?

In a deck that can easily cast it on turn 2, Bow of Nylea is pretty good. But trying to find it consistently in this deck is way harder than trying to find a creature, since you have Chord of Calling and Collected Company.

What are your thoughts on Dwynen's Elite ? It has decent synergy with heritage druid and stacks up tribal buffs very quickly.

Immaculate Magistrate to combo with Joraga Warcaller.

Joraga is less good for the coco version of elves since you can't kick him if you hit him with coco

jchudz you may be on to something. dwyen's elite also helps smooth the curve out on top of being a nice little combo with heritage druid and chord

I highly disagree with Elvish Champion. For a mirror match it does nothing because it applies to enemy elves as well. Otherwise, great decK! I wondered when these would start showing up :D

I think Gnarlroot Trapper is sub-par in this deck, even though it discourages blocking. Collected Company or not, the kill still comes from a massive overrun triggered by Ezuri, Renegade Leader or by quickly dumping (possibly mutliple) Shaman of the Pack when the elf count is high enough.
I would replace Gnarlroot Trapper by a one-off Rhys the Redeemed, so you can dump your mana into doubling your tokes each turn, if there is nothing else to do. This helps with Shaman of the Pack and tokens can help with mana production as well. You might even want to throw in a one-off Rhys the Exiled for life-gain.
If you can find some time, check out my version: G/B Elves.

You are absolutely right about the trapper. I'll give your suggestion a go. Thank you

I think you still want an Elvish Champion at least in the board so that you can attack though Tarmogoyf/Siege Rhino in the jund/junk matchups. It's also not as bad as it seems in the mirror match since the mirror is basically a contest to vomit the most elves onto the field and if you had less elves to the point where your champion is hurting you, you were probably going to lose that game anyway. I'd also recommend upping your count on Essence Warden as it's vital against burn and twin.

jchudz what would you recommend on how to build the sb? I made changes
July 16, 2015 1:10 a.m.
sideboard seems good right now, only potential thing might be swapping Duress for Thoughtseize depending on how many creatures start giving you problems

jchudz yeah, i actually had thoughtseize in for duress, but i decided to go with the more budget option and see how that goes. thank you for your input

I love this deck, probs the best collected modern deck I've seen so far. The only recommendation I can think of, and this is of course budget permitting, maybe some Tarmagoyf. Just a generally great card, though not aggro, I just love it to bits. Again, just a great deck all around. +1.

ShimianSpectre well this is an elf deck... goyf isnt an elf. He is great in the abzan value company decks, just not this one.

While Elvish Visionary is a great card, what do you think about Fauna Shaman instead? it helps getting the Shaman of the Pack or Ezuri, Renegade Leader you've been waiting for all game long. Of course you have Chord of Calling and Collected Company, but Fauna Shaman will add even more consistency and basically make this a sure thing.

JohnRandom I'll try it out. I think it's a good idea and elvish visionary has seemed underwhelming in my testing

Oh, and one other thing: I'm not sure you really need that amount of fixing. I think a playset of Cavern of Souls and Overgrown Tomb or Gilt-Leaf Palace should be plenty. Maybe add a Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to be on the safe side. I think we have to make sure we can drop at least 1-2 Forest before the Blood Moon comes down. I could be wrong on this one, but I'd rather use Chord of Calling + Reclamation Sage to get rid of a Splinter Twin, then having to waste it on a Blood Moon, especially for a deck that basically only splashes black for a couple of spells.
