Most of the upgrades came from packs won at FNM events so it paid for and improved itself by winning with the cards mentioned above that were eventually switched out for their upgraded counterparts found inside the boosters lol worked out well for me. I'm not going to change it much more seeing as EMN didn't bring much imo that complements a landfall type strategy other than the few cards that I fit into my play style into the main and side boards. I will be taking this back to my LGS this friday and hope that it continues to do well and gains more support in future sets. It's super fun and would be a shame if I couldn't use it in standard and be competitive anymore. Currently I'm 11-5 with this deck finishing top 8 (3rd and 2nd) in my last two events with it.

geneticfreak09c That's amazing! I did not understand at first the prizes you won. My store does store credit and I purchase single cards that way, I typically never get packs, but packs are also good because if you get something you don't need save it or trade it for something you do need. If the deck is finished the last thing that I constantly do is monitor how it does against other decks, what you need from sideboard and how you should play, hold up certain cards. All this you probably already know, but this is just something I do. For some decks I even have a different sideboard if I know I need certain things against them that my typical sideboard does not offer, just more ways to ensure you keep winning to gain prizes to fund the game (I spend no money on MTG just buy in for FNM and events). Glad everything is working out for you! If I do end up making the deck I will be sure to send you information from games played.

itsbuzzi Thanks man and the idea of a different sideboard depending on match up has crossed my mind a few times. If my LGS was a bit more diverse with the types of decks played its something I would definitely need to do to stay ahead of the curve. I also try not to spend much on the game outside of FNM events or tournaments I'm invited to every other week or so. Makes it more worth while when I pull what I need and gives me more reason to play lol If you do ever make a deck like this I'll be glad to assist in any way I can! Enjoy!

I didn't see any one correct this in the comments, I may be mistaken about that.

However Decimator of Provinces does not give itself +2/+2. It says when you cast so the giving creatures +2/+2 happens before decimator enters the battlefield and still happens even if decimator is countered

August 3, 2016 5:17 p.m.

Decimator of the ProvincesSorry about the tag and incorrect link

August 3, 2016 5:18 p.m.

Gabe_The_Controller From what the judges at my LGS explained to me since he's a creature I control when he's not countered he gets the +2/2 bonus. If it said "other" creatures you control get +2/2 and trample until end of turn he wouldn't receive the buff at all. Maybe they are wrong though I highly doubt it with one being a pro tour judge at one point. If so that's good to know anyway.

If I get enough store credit I will be looking to make this deck, but I will need to keep playing and winning to do so. It does give himself +2/+2 but its good to note the ability still occurs when you cast him. Its the same as Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, when you cast him you exile two permanents even if hes countered.

August 3, 2016 6:47 p.m.

Yea I understood the ETB working with him countered or not. The confusion for some is the wording on it which is pretty cut dry for him and any other creatures you control. Makes the card that much more worth it to get out whenever able to lol I hope you keep winning and can soon create this deck or something similar. It's extremely fun to play and unexpected by most.

I love unexpected. My play style is unexpected and cards no one uses.

August 3, 2016 8:41 p.m.

It's a casting trigger not an enter the battlefield trigger.

Also look at the second ruling for decimator on gatherer

August 4, 2016 12:56 a.m.

Gabe_The_Controller finally got a chance to look at gatherer and looks like you're right on that trigger. Either way it's a beast of a card in itself (I hope it's never cast alone) a must remove if not careful lol

With the addition of Decimator of the Provinces I replaced Radiant Flames with Kozilek's Return in the side board. Making for instant speed radiant flames and if/when Decimator hits the board a 2nd board wipe that most of my buffed creatures should survive if I play it like this: Play a Land (landfall buffs) + Sac/Emerge Decimator of the Provinces (+2/2 buffs and trample on already buffed creatures) at that time Kozilek's Return triggers wiping the board most likely for my opponent at that point in the game swing for lethal. Thoughts on the change?

The only benefit radiant flames has is being able to cast it for 1 2 or 3 damage. It doesn't seem to matter in your case for your guys are all over 3 for the most part. Instant speed gives you more opportunity to cast it as well, in case they have blockers ready before your turn you could kill them off if you don't have trample or a cannot block trigger. As long as you are fine with the increased money cost of the card it seems like a strict upgrade for you.

August 4, 2016 5:17 p.m.

I own 5 of them from pulls so lucky for me I don't have to pay the high price lol think i'll test it out this friday and see how it does

August 4, 2016 5:18 p.m.

itsbuzzi says... #15

Perfect go for it! If it is any help to you as well you are able to use Kozilek's Return's other ability to deal 5 damage to each creature once you cast your boar (its an Eldrazi with a big converted mana cost)

August 4, 2016 6:09 p.m.

itsbuzzi thats the reason for it being added that's a big surprise burst of damage that they will forget is coming once he hits the board and enable for a most likely lethal swing of damage shortly after.

Exactly! and the ability costs nothing to do from the graveyard. When I first read the card I wasn't sure if that's how it worked because that's just too good. But it is, so take complete advantage over it.

August 4, 2016 9:57 p.m.

Yes sir a big surprise that only I'm gonna enjoy lol

Love it! Let me know how it works, although I don't have the card I would still like to test with this but due to lack of time on my part I may not have time to get the store credit I need to purchase the deck faster than you make updates to it.

August 4, 2016 10:46 p.m.

I will keep you all posted for sure

I used to run a landfall deck like this, but yours is so much better than mine ever was! How would a Zendikar Incarnate look in your deck?

August 5, 2016 10:28 a.m.

It could fit in place of Mina and Denn, Wildborn or Grove Rumbler but I lose out on trample, land bouncing or surviving Languish since I can't buff his toughness. A great card though that can grow fast.

August 5, 2016 11:01 a.m.

The_Grape says... #23

True, he is missing the key components to getting damage through, otherwise he can be chump blocked. And his toughess is a problem. I have played too many games where he has gotten huge, but a Devour in Flames or, as you said, Languish would wipe him out. Maybe sideboard if not playing against a creature heavy deck?

August 5, 2016 11:10 a.m.

whompkin says... #24

I don't think Zendikar Incarnate is all that good at all compared to what else if on offer; especially not Mina and Denn, Wildborn - they really are amazing for landfall.

August 5, 2016 11:22 a.m.

Yea he doesn't fit here for me with my other 4 CMC creatures.bringing more to the table. Maybe for someone who doesn't have access to themail cards in this list maybe but not I.
