Well for those two cards, (since you need help with the mana base) I would add Gilded Lotus, or Fellwar Stone/Darksteel Ingot. I suggested both because they both are good but one drops a turn earlier and the other just gives mana of any color.

Also just realized, why no Sol Ring? It is the most stapley of all EDH staples because it is really good.
