Have you considered Masterwork of Ingenuity, or Steelshaper's Gift. You could probably go down to one Jitte, I don't know if you really need Mox Opal especially not 4 since it is legendary and you really don't need that much mana to pull off what you are doing, especially with the AEther Vial because now all of your mana is being spent on the equipment.

Thanks for the comment titanreaver!! I appreciate the suggestions too.

First off, this is prototype deck that I've basically just been playtesting at this point, and matching it up against some other decks. Masterwork of Ingenuity seems really good, if it can copy batterskull causing it to be a living weapon. Do you know if it would enter producing the token? I think I'll replace one jitte with this, thanks :)

I have definitely considered Steelshaper's Gift, but I find that I actually don't need it. Using Stoneforge Mystic generally provides enough equipment draw, not to mention, with this amount of equipment in general I find that I'm never too concerned.

Mox Opal... it's good to know that it's legendary, I didn't actually notice that important fact. I certainly don't think taking them out is the right thing to do though, they help generate mana quickly while also giving you free metalcraft. I definitely am willing to budge on it, but I definitely need to do some more playtests to find out if having multiples of Mox Opal is actually a problem or not.

Thanks again, I appreciate it when anyone comments on my decks, feel free to comment some more on anything you think of! :D

No problem I love a good rogue deck, and I have always loved Puresteel Paladin, so win win right.

To answer your question yes you will get the token.

If you are looking at getting mana faster, and you actually feel that you do. You could try Mox Diamond. With the card draw from puresteel you will probably end up some extra lands in your hand and this gives you something to do with them.

Definitely something to think of titanreaver! I don't want too many, as you can see I don't have a whole lot of lands in the deck.. maybe I could just add one in, replacing one Mox Opal? Or is that getting a little wonky..

No its not wonky I mean heck you could probably go two and two, and while I agree that you don't have many lands. How much mana do you actually need? Most of your spells are pretty cheap, and the expensive ones you are going to drop with stoneforge. Even the equip cost is free, after you get metalcraft, and your creatures you can just vial in so I don't know.

Definitely some fair points there, titanreaver, I just don't fully like relying on Puresteel Paladin, and Stoneforge Mystic. Sometimes it just doesn't work out and I only get one of them, and I still either have to pay for the equip or the casting cost, which can be a problem if I only have say 2 mana. That is mainly what my mana is for, it's just back up in case I really do need to hard cast things. I think I will do one diamond and 3 opals :) Thanks for all the advice thus far! :D

I actually think that Mox Opal is better than Mox Diamond. Hitting your land drops is very important in deck like this, and Mox Diamond prevents that. You can also do cool tricks like tap a Mox Opal for mana, play another and the first dies to the legendary rule, and tap the second for mana, which accelerates you and can potentially lead to unexpected, explosive plays. Also, I don't think that Masterwork of Ingenuity is that good, because it relies on other cards to be effective.

Mox Diamond doesn not prevent land drops. It prevents having useless lands in your hand. I agree you want to make your land drops, but I played a Puresteel Paladin deck a few years back, and almost every game I would end up with lands coming off of my draws and having nothing to do with them. Mox Opal is fine, and sure you can pull the same "trick" you do with Gaea's Cradle but I just don't think that is very optimal. Its not like you are trying to storm out, you just want to be consistently increasing your board, and I think Mox Diamond does that. I am not saying to play it like you do in stax, where it replaces lands for you, but I do think it can be extremely helpful. It also makes you more resilient to things like Rishadan Port, and so long as yoiu can keep the draws up, I think its cost is outweighed by its benefit. Now I could be wrong, and while your deck has a lot of similarities it is different and maybe you will find that it isn't as common that you end up flooded with lands, and in that case dragon_slayer is right and Mox Opal is better. I also agree that Masterwork of Ingenuity requires other stuff to be good, but it is also a cheap copy, and in a deck like this I think it will usually have a decent target. Now I wouldn't go playing four of it, but you haven't done that so I think you will be fine.

titanreaver I do understand your point, but what I meant is that you won't usually have many extra lands in your hand that you can use for Mox Diamond. Even with the draw from Puresteel Paladin, you would need to draw lands AND Mox Diamonds for them to be useful. If you do, then you probably won't need the mana anyway, because you wouldn't have drawn any other cards to use the mana for.

Well you might be right. You both have been playing with this concept much more recently than I have, however when I was playing it, diamond helped me out a whole bunch to even out my plays. I will have to find my old list to see why I ended up needing it, but for right now I just know I did.

I want to fully understand my meta, and legacy in general before I reallllly revise everything, I'm still in progress of making this deck, I don't have it fully. I'm slowly gathering everything I need to complete the above decklist. When I do actually get it, I will definitely have more valid opinions on the cards, and sideboarded cards :)

Thank you for the suggestion skrid54321! I do like the card, and it'd be really good if I used any auras as well, but I feel as if between the draw that I am getting now combined with Steelshaper's Gift which is one mana symbol w cheaper I am getting enough opportunity to use my different stronger mid game equipment. Definitely and awesome card though, thanks a lot! :)
