Tormentero Thats not true. Deathtouch is a static ability that always applies when a creature with it deals damage. Not just combat damage.

Just going off of this. But it's whatever you want it to be I suppose.
"702.2b. Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage, regardless of that creature's toughness"

Tormentero 702.2c A creature with toughness greater than 0 thats been dealt damage by a source with Deathtouch since the last time state-based actions were checked is destroyed as a state-based action. See rule 704.

Mind Over Matter? Its a great combo for Niv Mizzet and since you already have Kozilek in the deck it can truly go infinite whereas with Curiosity or Ophidian Eye you are limited to the amount of cards left in your deck. I like the deck though, its awesome! As a Niv-Mizzet Player myself I'm really surprised that I didn't know about Tandem Lookout, the card seems good.

I had thought about Mind Over Matter and was turned off to it because of it's mana cost. I hadn't thought about it with Kozilek, Butcher of Truth for truly infinite draw. I love the suggestion.

MrIzzetMageYeah, it can be costly and needing four blue can be troublesome sometimes, but for me its still more effective than the other combos because of the ability to win against as many people as you need. My playgroup sometimes does five or six players in one game so it is a much more effecient card

You can check out my Niv deck Niv-Mizzet have no friends.
There is a lot of combos there, but I played it only once. I want to keep some friends, but if your group is not full of crybabies which cannot give you credit for 5-card combo then you can find some cards in it :)

It's so....shiny.
Looks like a pretty solid deck to me. A piece of secret tech I used to fun in my Niv deck was Flux. It was even greater with Consecrated Sphinx out because there was always some doofus that would drop his hand to draw like 9 cards and would end up getting domed for all the card drawing he was allowing me to do haha. At worst it lets you drop a huge hand for big damage. At best you oops I killed the table.
Something else that goes great with wheels and Mind over matter is Library of Leng many games Id have about 70 cards in hand and really needed to kill that last player. flux with library of leng basically says drop your hand then draw it again and its beautiful. With mind over matter it says discard and draw the same card over and over to machine gun everyone down with niv mizzet.

Love the way this decks looks. Have you considered an infinite mana combo? You could do something with infinite mana. You could try out something with Basalt Monolith and Power Artifact or the DEN + Pal/PD for infinite blue. You can also do some bounce affects with Equilibrium. If you have infinite mana you can basically bounce all creatures to their owner's hands. Goes even better with Gilded Drake and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth because you can either steal all the creatures or draw all the cards. Infinite mana might also help with card draw. It could also help with your Curse of the Swine if you want to exile the board. Redundancy is how you win games! The only way I see this deck failing is because it is to creature oriented. You do an excellent job of relying on your commander, but I think you could use some more ramp. It will help get your cards out faster. Library of Leng would also be a good card for you because if, for whatever reason, you do not have infinite hand size you can just put them back in whichever order you want. It also goes great with Mind Over Matter.
Great deck. +1!

I haven't heard of Flux but I like the card. Seems like a sweet effect for this deck. As for Library of Leng, I've been considering adding it in for a while now because it does seem that I am struggling to kill the last player in 4-6 player games a majority of the time. At this point I'm just looking for what to take out to tech it in.
I have thought about infinite mana combos but haven't found any that I really like for this deck. Can you be more specific about the Infinite Blue Mana combo? I don't know what those letters stand for. I know Deadeye Navigator (DEN) but I'm lost on the others. I have been considering cutting some creatures but it's mainly been a problem of which ones should go.
Thank you guys for the suggestions.

Sweet deck man. Thanks for the comment on mine. Doing this on mobile so I don't know how to link, but check out Jace's Sanctum. It's bonkers in this deck. I was hesitant to try it at first but it makes combos so quick and the topdeck control rivals the top!

I built a similar deck and threw Daring Thief in it. Another good card to toss in is Elixir of Immortality as another option in case you run your library low and Laboratory Maniac gets smashed. This deck is way more effective and expensive than mine, though. Maybe even slide a Ral Zarek in? This deck looks pretty tight... I know it can be a pain looking for cards to cut.

To link an item, like a card or username, use double brackets around the item. To link decks you can use ((deck:deckname)) but replacing the parentheses with brackets. The name of your deck can be found at the end of the url found when on your deck's main page. Jace's Sanctum is a card I've played with before but unfortunately, it got cut to add other things into the deck that I liked more.
I play Kozilek, Butcher of Truth to be used as an Elixir of Immortality. The only difference is I can simply pitch the Kozi while I have to spend mana on the Elixir. One is just easier to use. Plus if I have the mana I have the option to play a 12/12 eldrazi with Annihilator. I like Ral Zarek but I wouldn't know where he would fit in the deck. I had him in here a while back but he just wasn't make as big of an impact as I would like. Daring Thief though, combos beautifully with Mind Over Matter. I like the thought of taking everybody's stuff. I might have to find a place for him in here.
May 28, 2016 3:12 p.m.
Yeah, I was thinking of swapping him for Gilded Drake. I know he costs more, but the upside with so many other cards you have in your deck is ridiculous. I saw Kozi and thought a second option would be good just in case he was exiled. If I was going to boardwipe, I would do that first. Also, Daring Thief goes well with your nonbasic land that untaps a creature and prevents combat damage.

Seems pretty complete if you ask me.
What might be interesting:
- Memory Jar : You might find the spell you desperetely need
- Magus of the Wheel : extra wheel effect?
- Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur : perhaps too expensive?
Have fun :) and +1

PartyJ I'd do Whirlpool Warrior over Magus of the Wheel, it doubles the wheel effect and doesn't have the discard effect, Geth's Grimoire works well with making other players discard and Library of Leng does keep you from worrying about it, but I would much rather have my hand go back into my library (TWICE!) than the graveyard once.
I love this deck, it has brought me a bunch of new ideas and I thought my deck was complete before I saw this! Check mine out too! Niv-mizzet hot and cold

The Basilisk Collar doesn't actually work as a board wipe combo. Deathtouch requires combat damage to occur in order to go off.
