I wouldn't play Blood Baron of Vizkopa in this simply because there isn't enough life gain to get his 30 or more life ability, especially since there are shocks and Mana Confluence . I just don't feel like Baron is a good fit. Loxodon Smiter might be a good replacement considering its a 4/4 that can't be countered. Drop it turn 3 and then turn 4 drop Caller of the Pride to swing for 8.

You are forgetting that he has protection from white & black. That is the best quality to have in this current meta, the life gain ability is a bonus. Loxodon smiter can't be counter so that is one match up. Protection from white & black has multiple match ups
