Abstract

This is a semi-competitive combo control Tasigur, the Golden Fang EDH/Commander deck. The main plan of this deck is assemble one of two infinite combos, either infinite mana with Palinchron along with either Deadeye Navigator or Phantasmal Image or infinite turns using Time Warp, Eternal Witness, and Deadeye Navigator. There is one other combo in the deck that don't go infinite but can set each opponent back and that is also the land destruction combo using Strip Mine and Crucible of Worlds or Ramunap Excavator. The game plan is split up into three phases. Phase 1, build up a board state early with ramp. Phase 2, stabilize and control the board while finding pieces for the combos or powerful threats. Phase 3, assemble a combo and find a finisher to wipe out each opponent.

Changed from Damia, Sage of Stone to Tasigur, the Golden Fang on May 17, 2019.

Deadeye Navigator + Palinchron , Palinchron + Phantasmal Image

The main combo of the deck is getting infinite mana with Palinchron by either flickering it with Deadeye Navigator or copying it with Phantasmal Image and bouncing the image. With infinite mana use Tasigur's ability over and over to get every non-land card from the deck and graveyard into the hand, use Blue Sun's Zenith to mill a player, or Venser, Shaper Savant and Deadeye Navigator or Capsize to bounce everything back to opponents' hands, locking them out of the game.
Deadeye Navigator + Eternal Witness + Time Warp

Cast Time Warp or any other Time Walk card that goes to the graveyard then return it to the hand by flickering Eternal Witness using Deadeye Navigator. Repeat this each turn.
Crucible of Worlds + Strip Mine , Ramunap Excavator + Strip Mine

Destroy opponents' lands using Strip Mine then replay it back using either Crucible of Worlds or Ramunap Excavator. Pair this combo with any of the "play additional lands" permanents such as Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Oracle of Mul Daya, or Exploration to make it even stronger.
Then there are other really high impacted draw spells such as Consecrated Sphinx, Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and Blue Sun's Zenith. Dig Through Time is a great draw spell to dig into the deck and look for combo pieces.
The graveyard is a resource for Tasigur. In addition to Tasigur's ability, there are several ways to recur cards from the graveyard. Eternal Witness, Regrowth, and Seasons Past all get back any card from the graveyard. Volrath's Stronghold is a land that can get back creatures by placing them on top of the library making this an incredibility strong land. Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator allow lands to be played from the graveyard or getting back lands using Life from the Loam, giving extra value to sac lands like fetches, Strip Mine, and Cephalid Coliseum.
Especially now, the curve of deck is really high for a competitive deck. So this deck needs lots of ramp and ramp that off loads cards from the hard and a huge plus with the high amount of card draw in this deck. This deck prefer's to play additional lands using Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Exploration, Oracle of Mul Daya, and Burgeoning. There is other forms of ramp such as Skyshroud Claim and mana rocks like Sol Ring and Chromatic Lantern.
Control the board through the use of counterspells, removal, and utilities. To protect the game plan and prevent the opponent from going off, there are counterspells such as Counterspell, Pact of Negation, Forbid, and Cryptic Command. Being in Sultai means the the deck has access to the best suite of removal. The deck can deal with permanents with Abrupt Decay, Assassin's Trophy, Maelstrom Pulse, and Capsize. Wrath the board with Pernicious Deed, Damnation, and Cyclonic Rift. The last way this deck controls the game is with other utilities such as Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze to eat problmatic cards in the graveyard, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir to limit opponents moves, and Shadow of Doubt to counter searches.
I want to make this deck as competitive as possible. Here is a link to the list of cards I am looking to get later on: UG: Tasigur, the Golden Fang. Definitely need to upgrade the mana base with more utility lands and fetches. Fetches will help make the manabase more consistent and this deck can abuse lands in the graveyard. Also, if I get a chance to get Revised Duals then definitely add them. More of the cEDH name sake mana rocks like Mox Diamond and Mana Crypt to help ramp faster. Another way to get Palinchron going is Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cabal Coffers. Lastly more tutors, Vampiric Tutor, to make the combos as consistent as possible. The rest of the cards are really good cards to lower the curve and improve the deck like Force of Will and Snapcaster Mage.
