Rise of the Elf:
This is a deck that took some time to develop, but I'm pleased with the way it turned out. It is a very fast pace deck, that can turn a few weak elves into an extremely powerful elven army, in as little as 1 turn. The goal for Rise of the Elf, is to mana ramp the first few turns, pulling out as many elves as possible in that time in preparation to pull out the main combo Joraga Warcaller + Increasing Savagery. If the initial plan fails or you are unable to draw Joraga, the next best option is to pull out other buffing elves such as Elvish Archdruid or
Elvish Champion
. If things are still not going as planned there is always the fall back of casting Drove of Elves, which if played in late game, should turn the tides in your favor. One noteworthy issue with this deck is that, you are able mana ramps so effectively that you will most likely play your entire hand by turn 4 or 5. By that time your momentum starts to slow, giving your opponent the upper hand in the latter turns. To prevent this from happening the goal would be to win the game by turn 5 to 6, or if that were not possible to use cards like
Explore
or Elvish Visionary to continue drawing extra cards in the remaining turns.
Main Combos:
1) Joraga Warcaller + Increasing Savagery
One of the best combos in the deck is the one listed above, it is the bread and butter for Rise of the Elf. The goal being to cast Joraga Warcaller with a few kickers to buff up the other elves. Then once the Warcaller on the field to cast Increasing Savagery, which effectively makes all of the elves on the field a force to recon with.
2) Copperhorn Scout + Elvish Archdruid and/or Llanowar Elves and/or Elvish Mystic
This is another great combo that is excellent for mana ramping. It will effectively restore some of your mana in the second main phase, allowing to continue flooding the enemy with creatures.
