I've had great results with this deck over the past few months at my previous LGS, Team Deweys. Unfortunately that store closed as of the new year, and I was forced to migrate to a new arena. Trying out the Hastings scene, where I already know acouple other refugees from Deweys FNM and other commander friends. The deck performed admirably, taking me to first and going 4 and 0.
First match was against a mono blue Eldrazi deck- not a very difficult win, but a fun game none the less.
The second match was the hardest by far, and one I'm going to remember. It was against Dark jeskai, and barely won it 2-1. Game three I was able to eek out a win; the jeskai black deck took a lot of early damage from a combination of fetches and dragon-powered roars hitting Jaces. Once they were at 6 life I was able to resolve Dragonlord Kolaghan ( we each had one card in hand ) swing for the kill and counter the crackling doom with my last silumgar's scorn. Great game!
The third match was against a red/white ally deck which was quite fast. I barely won this one on the back of Languish and Radiant flames- but usually once I'd stick Silumgar, The Drifting Death it was G.G.
The fourth match found me fighting sultai control- this proved easier than it probably should've been since my opponent seemed to have some pretty bad hands. I was very nervous after revealing Villainous Wealth off of a turn 2 Despise. Luckily for me he never got enough mana to cast it profitably. This card has wrecked me in the past.
