Really like what you did there. It's even quite unexpensive without the Mutavault s! +1 from me

I have a few questions though:

Why do you play Galerider Sliver over Hypnotic Siren ?

And have you considered Quickling ?

Thanks cmbr! Galerider Sliver gives those Mutavault 's flying.

Based on tonight's experience, 7 mana to bestow a Hypnotic Siren doesn't seem likely given how quickly this deck ends games. Also i'm scared of Reclamation Sage .

Quickling is one i'll have to consider for sure! thanks for the suggestion!

+1!

How are you feeling about Ensoul Artifact ? I cut mine for Hour of Need after playtesting last week. The simple fact that I don't have to play Darksteel Citadel and have some awkward draws when I have more artifacts then ensoul or two ensoul and no artifacts made me reconsider them. Hour of Need is just so consistent and can give you several flying 4/4's instead.

Illusory Angel and Quickling have been real players for me when running the deck and I highly recommend running full setts of both. They slow the deck down a slight bit, but a t3 angel is really rough for most decks to handle and the Quickling can actually be really good and has saved my creatures from spot removal when playing against mono black and monsters so many times.

If your interested in my more controling take on this type of deck have a look here:

Why use all 1 drop fliers? There are more effective ones out there like Welkin Tern , Vaporkin , and Quickling for only 1 more mana. Also, I run 3x Illusory Angel in a deck that I built that's similar to this. Instead of counterspells (since I want to spend all my mana every turn), I just run 4x Void Snare to delay them until I can eek out enough flying damage to win. Birds. is my mono-blue birds deck, you can check it out if you like. It survives the mid-game a bit better.

I do like your Galerider Sliver + Mutavault combo though, I threw that into mine.

Hm... Yeah! Haven't thought of that. That is indeed a quite amazing combo, man!

This is hilarious. I love decks that screw over the current top decks. +1, +2 if I could :D

I love the idea of someone trying to spot remove a creature and just Hour of Need for that sweet beef and spell null. :P

You asked about how to deal with hexproof. Hm... I fear I don't know a better way than using Glaring Spotlight .

Saljen the point of the deck is to stick a threat and back it up with counterspells. It's a lot like tarmo-twin in modern. Get the tarmogoyf out, remand everything, flashback a path to exile on their voice of resurgence. While welkin turn is better, you need to think about the curve. syncopate and vaporkin clash too much, in my opinion

Absolutely nuts deck! Im loving all the small synergies. Since the deck is so fast, Board sweepers often have a lot less usefulness. However, you have a bad matchup against the extremely fast sliver decks. I'm running one, and it has twenty lands, just like yours, but I side two out on the draw. Standard Slivers. How do you win the mirror match/slivers?

Cool, man we had the same idea haha. Our lists are fairly similar, the main differences being the SB and my inability to afford Mutavault haha. Definite +1, I hope your results are a foretelling for how my deck will fare.

What changes would you recommend for those of us who don't have Mutavault ?

4 more Islands?

July 29, 2014 2:49 p.m.

TwilitWave says... #19

Well yes (Though 4 more might be too many), but I'm also worried about what to replace the Galerider Sliver 's with, since they lose their utility.

Triton Shorestalker and a full playset of Hypnotic Siren could work.

What about Ordeal of Thassa instead of Military Intelligence ? Can buff up your creature, I know the card draw is slower though.

i like the deck going to try it for fnm but im looking at putting Spirit Bonds in main instead of Springleaf Drum all the one drop creatures and pay one w to put a flying spirit in the field seems worth

July 30, 2014 8:49 p.m.

Love it, started a similar deck after seeing this one. +1.

+1 for making a kickass mono-blue aggro deck without !@#$ Thassa, God of the Sea . And for pwning all the smug little netdecks at your FNM. Keep up the good work!
