Sideboard

A reasonably powerful Group Hug Deck that demonstrates beautifully that draw is for the win.

I've always been a turbo-draw fanatic (who isn't :P) The initial game is meant to take advantage of my commander's Coastal Piracy style draw effect by small unblockable drops that are ready to swing by the time my 3-drop general comes out. As the effect is global (so long as you don't hit me), Edric himself becomes a group-hug card!

The switch to late-game strategy happens when it becomes necessary to drop the Meishin, the Mind Cage , after which I've almost always got an occasional fog or counterspell or reshuffle effect available for the player who wants it.

The "oh sh%t" card is Infinite Reflection, say on my Cloud of Faeries unless there's something more nifty on the board, followed by a dozen of those little guys in my hand dropped for free as an instant under the Aluren

Often I consider this to be my best EDH deck.Time Stretch has won me the most games, but when I lone out the deck, usually it's Empyrial Plate. But sometimes the Laboratory Maniac does his thing if I have to keep the board locked down.

I've been told it'd play more competitive if I ran Exploration, but I'd rather fuel the opponent. The opponent is your sword and your shield. Without an opponent you don't have a game. So to effectively use their momentum against them, I help 'em out with the Rites of Flourishing.
