Welcome!
Recently two things happened to me; I realised I was bored of my mono-white deck; and I realised that I have a bunch of awesome Selesnya cards sitting around doing naught. I decided to make a Selvala great stuff deck. It works pretty well.
How does it Work?
First you ramp, there's plenty in the deck, including Selvala. Then you drop good artifacts and enchantments that get you places. You drop big nasties, tutoring in response to the board-state, and wreck face. Use the removal suite to stop people from doing too well with the cards you have unfortunately given them.
Synergies
Win Cons
Avacyn, Angel of Hope
+
Novablast Wurm
. Keep them down, hit big every turn with your indestructible creatures.
Avacyn, Angel of Hope
+
Shaman of Forgotten Ways
+ wrath effect. Blow everything up, and then Biorhythm the table.
Avacyn, Angel of Hope + Worldslayer
. Slay all the things that aren't yours. Do it as an instant speed combat trick with Stonehewer Giant.
Blightsteel Colossus
+
Worldslayer
. Destroy all the things except your 11/11 indestructible infect monster and the equipment that keeps on slaying. Similarly works with Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. Also an instant speed trick with Stonehewer Giant.
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Kamahl, Fist of Krosa
. LD for those games when people aren't playing nice.
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa + wrath effects (especially Novablast Wurm). Kill all the lands and all the creatures.
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
+
Storm Herd
. Selvala gives you a fair bit of life, so you end up with a massive army of 3/3 flying pegasi. Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and Mirari's Wake pump your tokens too.
Notable Synergies
Avacyn, Angel of Hope + Privileged Position
. Indestructible and hexproof makes you pretty hard to kill. Same with Asceticism.
Blightsteel Colossus + Lightning Greaves
. Shroud and indestructible on a win con creature. Nice inevitability.
Novablast Wurm
+
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
. Stack the triggers so that Novablast Wurm's trigger happens first. Then your opponent has to sac four permanents without any creatures to soften the blow. Certainly capable of annihilating one opponent.
Selvala, Explorer Returned
+
Well of Lost Dreams
. Very neat synergy, gain life and then choose to pay all or some of the mana Selvala produced to draw cards.
Alhammarret's Archive
+
Selvala, Explorer Returned
. Draw two cards, double the life gained.
Alhammarret's Archive
+
Well of Lost Dreams
. Alhammarret's Archive doubles the life for Well of Lost Dreams' trigger, and draws double cards when you pay for the trigger too.
Alhammarret's Archive
+
Sylvan Library
. Draw five cards, and then put two on top of your library unless you pay four life for each in your draw step. You're playing Selvala, so you'll often be in a position to pay the life.
Alhammarret's Archive
+
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
. Draw eight cards.
Selvala, Explorer Returned
+
Thousand-Year Elixir
. Double trouble, gives pseudo-haste. Untap is addressed in the deck with
Magewright's Stone
,
Seeker of Skybreak
and Wirewood Lodge.
Captain Sisay + Thousand-Year Elixir
. Double tutor at pseudo-haste instant speed is pretty solid. Also works with the other untap effects except Wirewood Lodge. Other cards that like the haste and untapping include Elvish Piper, Mother of Runes, Shaman of Forgotten Ways and Stonehewer Giant.
Selvala, Explorer Returned
+
Worldly Tutor
, Use the tutor before Selvala's ability, and be guaranteed the mana back plus a life once you activate her. Get your big critter into your hand. Works nicely with Enlightened Tutor and Congregation at Dawn too.
Mirri's Guile
+
Selvala, Explorer Returned
. Stack your library for best effect. Grab the card you don't want to reveal first, leave the second card to be revealed by Selvala. Subtle power. Works with Sensei's Divining Top and Sylvan Library as well.
Aura Shards
+
Storm Herd
. Your opponents don't have artifacts or enchantments anymore.
Thanks for taking a look. Suggestions and upvotes always welcomed!
