Playtested the deck yesterday against UR control based on: - This deck -, with some alterations.
Note: We played without sideboards, since mine was not yet done.
My findings:
1. The deck was too slow
2. Not enough card draw
3. Thing in the Ice
Flip flip meant a game loss (no answer for boardwipe)
4. Planeswalkers may become a problem
Changes made:
One of the main problems was that Prairie Stream, Port Town and Evolving Wilds are too slow. Cut down on the copies and added more basics. Another big problem was playing too many counterspells, i moved all copies to the sideboard and replaced them with 1x Always Watching, 2x Thunderclap Wyvern and also swapped 4x Uninvited Geist
Flip for 4x Bygone Bishop since he was easily blocked and the Bygone Bishop has better synergy with Thunderclap Wyvern and a better effect. This should give the deck a lot more power. Bygone Bishop should help with the card draw problem and i also added 3x Anticipate. For now i ignored the planeswalker problem until i have done more testing.
Sideboard added:
Eerie Interlude is definitely in. Thing in the Ice
Flip flip destroys this deck, probably any other board wipe will as well. I also added Reflector Mage, the bounce is just too good to pass up on. For the rest i added some standard sideboard cards.
Possible future changes:
Im considering putting in 2x Uninvited Geist
Flip in favor of 2x Always Watching, reason for this is that Always Watching is only cost effective when i have multiple creatures on the board. And the Uninvited Geist
Flip is useful as soon as it enters the battlefield, be it as a blocker or an attacker. I can also flash this in when i have a Rattlechains on the board, which i cannot do with Always Watching.
More testing tonight (hopefully against different decks).
