don't know how much you care but there are some cards that might sideboard well in your deck I already like it the way it is but I don't know if you have seen these cards before

Nivmagus Elemental

Ground Rift

Clout of the Dominus

I am not a good deck builder these are just some cards that I know of that seems to fit

I'll second that Nivmagus is decent against control matchups with a lot of counterspells. Might not be the best but I bring him in against twin in my deck.

Love the Nivmagus Elemental!
I'll have to find them as I don't believe I have any. :-(
4 of those to replace the 3x Blistercoil Weirds and 1 Kiln Fiend should reign back the aggro and lean to the defensive a bit more while still giving me an edge.

Thanks!

I personally think the rituals aren't doing much. You want to be casting those into a cantrip chain. Check out some storm primers, this is very much a storm deck with fast beatsticks. I personally like Manamorphose for the chaining aspect.

Also, Desperate Ritual splices onto itself so is pretty much strictly better.

Awesome deck though, +1

I have a less combo more aggro version here: Sturm und Drang

Thanks for the great cards!
I'll work them in later as I have none of those again. (Just working with what I got).
I'll put those in my acquire board and replace the rituals later.
+1 appreciated!!

From what I've seen, Nivmagus Elemental is much more robust than Blistercoil Weird. It allows for you to play one on turn 1 and have a more consistent source of damage. Plus overall he does more damage.

Also milling does nothing for you, so replace Thought Scour with Peek

lemmingllama,
Thanks for the input! Though, I'm pretty happy the way Thought Scour works as most players are scrying these days through lands.
Scour throws a wrench in their machine and does the same thing (draw) for the same cost. The mechanic doesn't fit, I agree, but it has its benefits; adding insult to injury.

I don't know about your meta, but the only tiered deck that run scrylands is Grishoalbrand. Also if you are targeting your opponent, you can be enabling their delve cards like Murderous Cut, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, and Gurmag Angler.

Also I personally think that knowing exactly what your opponent has allows you to work with more information, and thus you will sequence your plays better. Knowing all the cards in their hand will typically be more useful than the potential value of milling them.

Er, not Negate, I mean Turn Aside?

Turn Aside would be a great way to do that.

Another cool option might be Shattering Spree, you can beat affinity or exile multiple copies off the stack with Nivmagus Elemental.

That's fun! That actually rounds out my sideboard nicely. Thanks!

No problem. Hope the deck works out for you!

Too bad Mental Misstep was banned in modern lol. Nice deck, love these one turn kill decks, even if the chance of having that is very unlikely.

This has been very consistent on turn 2. Thank you for the compliment and upvote!!
Play hard, friend!

Haha cool +1

Not really the goal of this deck, but I've seen a cool combo of Nivmagus + any cipher card

Manapanda,
Interesting! I have not thought about the myriad of combos and synergies I could use with Nivmagus Elemental and cipher cards. I may have to build one around that little synergy sometime!
Thanks for the upvote!
Play on!

TheSurgeon, I have another idea for that cipher deck, especially since a lot of the cipher cards are expensive. You could supplement the deck with other stuff that recurs like rebound and replicate. Pour all your excess mana into a Gigadrowse and you'll have a beefy Nivmagus. I know this isn't relevant for this deck, but I like the idea of that Nivmagus deck and wanted to put in my pennies :P

I've been thinking about Expedite for my build, but it seems like it's too big of a mana investment (if you're doing it with Kiln Fiend, it's 3 mana, which can be a challenge for the deck and a lot of work for a 4/2). That being said, it seems like it can really enable some blow-outs; I do want to try it as a 2-of, maybe in place of Peeks?

Very nice deck. +1 for sure.

I noticed Manamorphose isn't in the list anymore. Did you take it out for Slip Through Space?I'm working on a similar deck, so I was wondering if casting more cards is more important (Manamorphose, rebound stuff) or if getting your creatures past the opponents defense is the most important? (they're obviously both very important, but it's global deck balance I'd like advice on).

Last but not least, what's your opinion about Stormchaser Mage? He has haste AND inbuilt evasion, so would you consider taking out Kiln Fiend or Blistercoil Weird for him?
