Apparently Brute Strength and Expedite aren't modern legal either. :-(
Looks like its just Titan's Strength and Brute Force!!

Pretty cool combo, however I don't think the deck is as effective as before, but it is really fun to use! Oh and first comment :)

With you combo there is a new card called Slip Through Space that might be cool
January 14, 2016 11:36 p.m.
do you think the new Stormchaser Mage has a place in this deck?
January 15, 2016 12:20 a.m.
Thanks for the long answer, it's much appreciated. Also Slip Through Space Brute Strength and Expedite will be Modern legal once they're released, so that means they'll be legal from next friday onwards.

I don't believe that Rending Volley hits Spellskite. Shatterstorm certainly does.

why did you took out Manamorphose?... hmmm. may i suggest a Not of This World on SB as it's usually almost free to cast to protect Kiln Fiend... i'm also running almost the same deck and i hate it when i face control decks that run Fog. So i SB'ed Fling for the final shot.

jaredpaolo25,
I have been kicking myself for taking them out.
I was trying to make room for all of the cards I want to put in here to pump the attacker without having to cast SO many spells. More of an aggro approach than storm, but I believe the number of copies of each card may have to change. I'll keep any card that has draw and nix some of the pump.
I'll get around to it. Have been busy lately.
Thanks for the wakeup call!
Cheers!

thecakeisalie42,
You are correct, but volley also can't be redirected @ Spellskite; as it is not a legal target for the spell.

Well it's kinda of irrelevant now that twin is gone. Hey, it's still a great sideboard card.

I've been playing this deck and really like it! Was just wondering your thoughts on Abbot of Keral Keep

@Modson: Cost to benefit ratio seems a bit high for the casting cost to me. Extra land would be cool but would render Simian Spirit Guide useless. Not to mention i still need the mana to cast any card exiled this way.
If it were , I would say hell yes. That would allow me to put Swiftspear out the same turn and go into turn two with guns blazing; but I'm too frugal with my cmc's.

yeah I know what your saying, idk what to do bout it but seems like I pull storm chaser more than any other creature

used a similar deck this last saturday tourney. Unstable Footing from SB saved me against fog kind of decks. Also, i pulled out Stormchaser Mage for a Nivmagus Elemental that my friend told me to put in the main. it doesn't quite hit the mark so i SB'ed it. It was good against control decks. :) my standing was 3-1. I lost to a monoblack vampire deck that hit me hard with Diabolic Edict and Geth's Verdict. SB'ed 2 Stubborn Denial and 2 Not of This World but when i drew it, i run out of cards for a one-turn-kill. So i'm kinda stuck when against that kind of decks. :)

@jaredpaolo25
Glad to hear it! I havent played the current build of this as I have been hard at work searching and trading to complete a few other decks. I'm glad you like it. And thanks for the +1!!

So I've been playing this deck a lot and i really like it but in most games i play i'm mana starved, talking 2 maybe 3 mana in 5 or 6 turns, i feel like this deck should be punching like a truck at 3 or 4 or a more regular basis. i know we got 18 lands and 4 Simian's but idk what to do about drawing lands and getting mana quicker. Any idea's would help

Modson,
Since the release of OGW, I have added cards to this deck. Expedite and Slip Through Space, for the cantrip ability each one has.
The problem is, what cards do I take out to slim this to 60? Since I've added the cards, I've been rather apprehensive about finishing this deck, mainly because I get so damn frustrated trying to take out cards that I know I don't need so many of, but either the cost, effect, or cantrip is really helpful.
Any suggestions?
I figured if I keep the cheapest cantrip cards that have aggressive benefits: Slip Through Space, Expedite, Gitaxian Probe and Manamorphose (for mana fix) my hand will stay fed.
Keep the cheap pump spells: Mutagenic Growth, Brute Strength, Assault Strobe and Titan's Strength. Since they are the muscle of the deck.
Check back as I'm currently working on the numbers!!
Cheers!

I was playtesting against your deck again after the recent changes, and it feels like your deck has slowed down. I mean yes, you will occasionally get a turn one stormchaser with mutagenic growth backup (this happened in two out of the five games), but the deck tends to fizzle down/ not keep up with mine like it used to. Personally, I would cut cards like brute strength for temur battlerage and maybe focus a bit more on kiln fiend (by either using similar cards like [cyclops] or playing flamekin harbinger).
Then again, it could be that your match-up against the rest of the field got better with the recent changes and only your match-up against my particular brew got worse. Not sure, but I just wanted to give my two cents.
[This is the deck I was running yours against: Izzet on a Budget

ghode,
First off, let me express my appreciation for playtesting this current build. I have been very busy lately, and admittedly have been neglecting to keep up with playtesting. Thank you for the feedback!!
I knew that Stormchaser Mage was a bit weak for my tastes, and would probably give me problems; but i had to try it.
If I may ask a favor? What exactly has changed? I was trying to add a bit more draw cantrips to feed the storm, but apparently this isn't putting the potency into it it used to have. I'll trade out the stormchasers for cyclops. I love the Brute Strength, (I don't have any battle rages) so, out of convenience for now, I'm going to keep them in.
Please continue to playtest this and keep the advice coming!

I feel a little dumb but I don't understand the strategy behind Nivmagus Elemental

@Modson If they try to counter your spell, you can simply exile it for counters. Also if you don't have critical mass for spells, you can pump repeatedly and get in that value over the course of several turns. The counters stick, which is a big deal.

If Chalice of the Void on 1 is a problem in your local meta consider Smash to Smithereens over Shattering Spree.
It hits 26 of your spells (10 out of your 12 draw spells).

Chandrian,
I'm in the process of updating the deck with new cards but have not had the time to update the description (hence the "private" status), as it's a lengthy process. Since you were kind enough to compliment and upvote, I'll give you a sneak-peek on how and why this deck is evolving as I answer your questions.
A deck of this design can go either of two ways as stated below..
1. Solely using prowess to build your creatures p/t. - This requires an immense amount of resource availability. So draw spells (Gitaxian Probe, Peek, Thought Scour) become essential to acquire more spells to feed your attacker.
Mana fix is also a good idea, and sometimes necessary. Though every card in the deck will help in some way, you can be stopped in your tracks with a good spell storm because your mana color isn't right. This often results in a <9/8 double strike, that (if it gets through) is usually removed the very next turn.
The result: an empty board state and you're hellbent turn 2. To out it simply: Your glass cannon has blown up, and you're the only casualty. :-(
This is the way the deck WAS designed. Now, onto the changes..
2. A deck like this can also use a few spells to pump an attacker immensely. Picking the cheapest spells with the best effects, or "cherry picking". This keeps your hand semi-full for subsequent turns. Here are 4 cards that will be added to the deck:
Brute Strength- +3/+1 pump for + trample = double strike enhancer
Brute Force- simple +3/+1 pump
Titan's Strength- +3/+1 + scry
Expedite- haste for Kiln Fiend and draw that card you scryed for with Titan's Strength.
With the addition of trample, the deck could probably go mono-red; but there simply isnt enough evasion or draw. So, blue will be solely used to cast draw and unblockable spells like Artful Dodge and Distortion Strike. When I revised this i did not know Slip Through Space was not Modern legal.
Check back tomorrow, I should have the list complete and (hopefully) an updated description.
As far as Stormchaser Mage. I think it's okay. Overrated, but okay.
IMO the cost is specific if you want to use it on turn 2, you have to have fetches, pains, or expeditions in your deck. It can still be removed with Lightning Bolt as can Kiln Fiend. I like kiln fiend over stormchaser as a better aggressor, but every card's value depends on the deck it's in. Stormchaser may be good for longer lasting decks (aka, not this one) An equal card to stormchaser in my mind would be Wee Dragonauts. Its one more to cast, but more reliable to get out on the turn it can, and gets larger pumps to attack.
Cheers.
