I'm thinking about adding Thing in the Ice Flip. Two drop that can be flipped insane fast in this deck.

@Modson- Yes. This would be an excellent blocker for turns 2-3, but I'm not sure how I feel about putting in any more than 2. It seems to take away from some of the aggressiveness of the deck.
Also, what do you suggest I take out in place of Thing? I have not updated this (or any other) deck with SOI as I have been concentrating on other new decks I currently have in the works.
Thanks for the suggestion!! Play around with it with Thing and let me know what works!

I'd play one-kick a copy of Blessing to the sideboard and take out an Unstable Footing.

@Modson & thecakeisalie42-Regarding Thing in the Ice Flip: After some testing, honestly, its a better SB option. You have pretty much the best creatures you can in the main deck.
I say SB due to its ability to bounce all non-horror creatures. Thats really useful VS zoo and other weenie based decks (cough thopters cough) . Making it worth swapping out the non- Kiln Fiend creatures; but for Game 1 you want the combo pieces as reliably as possible.

Good idea. It also supports the combo/longer game plan you kind of have to adopt against faster aggro.

Some cards that I think you should consider are...
Distortion Strike - essentially does the same thing as Slip Through Space except one draws you a card and the other activates twice
Tainted Strike - along with some black lands would produce an easy infect kill. Manamorphose makes this suprisingly easy.
Nivix Cyclops - a 3 mana Kiln Fiend that's a little tougher
Other than these, the deck looks fantastic. Nice Job!

Thank you for the suggestions! In fact, earlier versions of this deck included both Distortion Strike and Nivix Cyclops in varying combinations.
Distortion Strike was an awesome free prowess trigger, but i can get a nice storm chain started, and continued with Slip Through Space in the deck. It's honestly a simple matter of preference.
Nivix Cyclops- I liked it, because a Lightning Bolt couldn't kill it, but I like the creatures at lowest cmc possible and let the hyper-aggressiveness keep the opponent mentally scrambling defensively. I feel it's a SB card if you need a few more creatures to play with.
Concerning Tainted Strike, have a version of this (albeit, an old one that needs updating): Compleatly Sickened (OGW Update). It needs improvements but I haven't put it together yet and tested the list.
Cheers!

@willis1234- I've seen this card before, and if the cast and equip costs were any lower, I would consider it. Also, I'm not even sure what I would substitute it in for. The draw is what really keeps this deck blasting to the face. If I draw a pike, my storm chain is dead.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Play on!

i would like to mention that Nivmagus Elemental exiles spells, thus they wont resolve. i understand that your are trying to create a safety net, however, your strategy would only succeed in the beginning of the match. so if your early attacks fail then your unlikely to win. replacing Nivmagus Elemental with 2 more Blistercoil Weird might be a more viable option to increase the chance of having an aggressor in your opening hand.
also, speed is very intial to win so having the deck mono-colored may mnprove your chances of winning

@weter123- if you read The Aggressors section of the description, you will see that I already understand that the spells are exiled for Nivmagus Elemental, and (more importantly) why I have it in this deck. I even give an example on how to use it.
While I agree that the "glass cannon" strategy is a a bit faulty on longer games, the deck's design is still one of the quickest kills in modern that's still legal, and one of my favorites.
Games 2-3 changes gears. Subsequent games don't rely so much on dealing 20+ damage in one turn, but rather 4-5 damage here and there picking the opponent apart while they foolishly wait to remove a 22/7 creature, that isn't forthcoming.

With the recent Gitaxian Probe ban, what's your substitute for this card? Will you lose significant effectiveness?
January 24, 2017 3:58 p.m.
TheSurgeon says... #21
@beebsman: Given the recent ban, I've decided to add Peek as a tentative substitute.
This comes with a price, of course as Probe was so much more versatile with casting cost; but when a card is broken, it's broken. And let's face it, Probe was very f*cking broken.
No more viable turn 2 kills, but still a "blast" to play!

Thing in the Ice Flip is also very good in this deck, but with how much removal there is in modern that can kill your guys maybe adding some Mizzium Skin might help.

frogkill45- Thanks for the input! Thing in the Ice Flip is more of a sideboard card, after playtesting with it, I found that I was more often than not, hurting myself by returning the aggressors I'm pumpimg, to my hand.

I feel like 4x Thermo-Alchemist is not that good and too slow, maybe a ritual instead for faster combo kills, or more protection because you depend on one or two creatures?

Thanks, Jijim!
Chalice is not found in my local meta, but I will definitely make Smithereens part of the SB!
Great suggestion!
