I have seen a number of Pili-Pala decks, but this one is fairly consistent. There is not much room for interaction from this side, but when we are up against a deck without interaction it is tough for most decks. In the very least the deck is a reminder that Fauna Shaman is a very powerful card.

Plan A

  1. Pili-Pala + Grand Architect

Once we are infinite we have:

Spellskites, Eternal Witness and Academy Ruins help protect the combo.Fauna Shaman and Whispers of the Muse help assemble it.

Plan B

Wurmcoil Engine, which can be cast quickly with Grand Architect or Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl . Turn 3 Wurmcoil Engine can happen in several different ways.

Discussion

A turn 3 Emrakul is possible as well.

Then use Fauna Shaman to get Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Or perhaps

There are other combos worth considering

  1. Training Grounds + Pili-Pala + Paradise Mantle

  2. Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank

There are some ways to improve the deck starting with the mana base, but Misty Rainforests are expensive so this is where it stands for now. If there are other ways to improve it I am happy to hear them.
