Just wanted to add some thoughts in the context of a good finish at a 1k.
The deck's greatest strength is its ability to make opposing copies of Terminate and Lightning Bolt embarrassing. My record at this event reflected this, as I played against and defeated Grixis Control (all tapout builds with Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
Flip and Pia and Kiran Nalaar) 3 times in the Swiss, and beat Jund in the quarterfinals, including game 1 on the draw and with a mulligan to 5. However, you can still lose to these otherwise favorable matchups with the help of opposing Anger of the Gods and Scavenging Ooze out of Jund - my loss to Jund in the Swiss was largely due to multiple Scavenging Ooze.
Overall, I don't think the deck is especially good. It's not especially fast when compared with many combo decks or archetypes like Infect, Affinity, and Small Zoo, all of which are bad matchups. It does seem to stack up pretty well against Merfolk, largely because the fish tend to be slower than Affinity and with smaller creatures than Zoo. Merfolk creatures are more likely to trade with your zombies, making your Blood Artists very good in the matchup, even if they exile some of your guys with Relic of Progenitus.
I believe this build is overall more consistent and a better Blood Artist deck than the similar Mardu list I played to an IQ top 8 December of last year. It can certainly prey on a Grixis and maybe Jund-saturated metagame, unless those decks start sideboarding more Anger of the Gods.
