A take on the modern Death and Taxes lists, but with an emphasis on flicker effects. Makes it a bit more threat-heavy and less simply annoying, which is overall more fun (for both players.)
A few explanations for those not familiar with some of the cards:
How do you play Akroma, Angel of Fury if it's mono-white? With flicker effects! Because the angel has Morph, you can play her face down for 3 colorless. The rulings for all flicker based effects (in this deck, Flickerwisp and Restoration Angel) state that whenever a creature re-enters the battlefield after being flickered, it always enters untapped, unflipped, with no counters on it, and FACE-UP! This means when we Aether Vial in our Flickerwisp, Akroma, Angel of Fury comes back at the end of the turn face-up in all her furious glory! Note: This does work with Restoration Angel, despite the fact that her effect says "non-angel creature." A face-down Morph creature does not have a creature type.
How does
Epochrasite
work? The wording is confusing. Took me a few reads, as well. Basically, if you cast it from your hand, it's a 1/1. If it enters the battlefield from anywhere else at all, or if it is not cast (ala Aether Vial), it's a 4/4. Most importantly, if it ever dies, it will be back in 3 turns, always as a 4/4 with haste, because of suspend. Fun times!
Why Ghost Quarter over something like Tectonic Edge? Because with Leonin Arbiter and/or Aven Mindcensor, Ghost Quarter becomes Strip Mine when they can't pay to search their library or can't find a basic in the top 4 cards. Or both! Note: this same idea turns Path to Exile into an even better version of Swords to Plowshares. It's like we're playing Legacy, except better!
