coz other than path to exile which i have more than enough ways to prevent (not to mention i benefit still from the extra land up until i have 7 mana) obliterator is possibly one of the strongest ways to win in these colours without a combo, if they do anything other than path obliterator then i'm laughing coz currently non path removal is bounce effects or damage based.... any damage on obliterator is stupidity incarnate

and.... demigod is resiliant to both discard, bounce and death (although not exile) due to a second copy bringing it back from the dead (1 is a 4 turn clock but if you have 2 it's a 2 turn clock)

Maelstrom Pulse is a thing. Liliana of the Veil is a thing Victim of Night is a thing. Beast Within Turn to Frog Journey to Nowhere Oblivion Ring there are hell of common answers for Obliterator. Guess what, even red has it's Harness by Force effects. I've ran Obliterator in modern my entire magic lifespan. I love the card but the card is not the untouchable force people think it is.
Demigod is a cool card but it's too frail to depend on. It dies to Grafdigger's Cage, Scavenging Ooze Bojuka Bog Relic of Progenitus Tormod's Crypt and all the other cards people currently have in their 75 to combat Treasure Cruise

All the cards you listed I haven't seen in the current pod/delver heavy meta

i meant to the obliterator, the demigod arguments are valid

Not enough targets Spell Pierce doesn't hit that I'd rather counter rather than kill or exile

Spell Snare hits an obscene amount of cards in Modern. Tarmogoyf, Young Pyromancer, Voice of Resurgence, the list goes on...
Demigod of Revenge is quite bad as a win condition. You really need Snapcaster Mage, Keranos, God of Storms and Batterskull.
I'm surprised to see no Electrolyze in here, as it's a very strong spell. I'd only play 2-3 seeing as its not the best against Delver.
Here's how I would build your manabase:
2 Watery Grave, 2 Steam Vents, 1 Blood Crypt, 3 Island, 1 Swamp, 1 Mountain
4 Creeping Tar Pit, 2 Tectonic Edge, 2 Sulfur Falls
4 Scalding Tarn, 4 Polluted Delta
Cutting down on shocklands is important for saving on life, and you need more Creeping Tar Pit as your win condition.

Agreed
Had suggested most of it prior to comment sweep.
I dont hate Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver side board depending on your meta game.

GlistenerAgent true spell snare hits an amazing number of targets but most of them I don't care about because of my removal and sweepers and the rest I can just spellpierce

arcbound ravager dodges Terminate? cranial plating is a creature?

Arcbound Ravager is annoying, Removal for one creature is one thing but your opponent simply Modulating onto another creature can be painful.
Cranial Plating Can make even an Ornothoper a threat.
This is one matchup that its great in, I don't particularly want to analyse multiple matchups for you, its simply to good not to play.

i also run damnation for the reason that modular is annoying and anger doesn't always hit everything
December 22, 2014 6:26 a.m.
+1, saw you're list on a comment of my grixis list, Demigod of Revenge seems pretty sweet and I think I like your idea of cutting down on the Cruel Ultimatum it gets awk to have too many

Being able to counter things before they hit the table is much better than you think. Good players will be able to make at least 1 token from Young Pyromancer, and in general lots of cards can generate value before you regain priority to kill them.
Spell Snare is a very good tempo play, especially on the draw. I'd consider taking any advice you can get, as it is rather clear you are new to playing control in Modern.

I took the advice and decided I don't care about most any example so far given, pyromancer tokens die to anger electrolyze damnation, mana leak and remand can handle them casting them anyway
Advice I did take has been put in

A bit more hand disruption might be good in this deck, no point in running just 2 Thoughtseize since it is a card that you will want it most opening hands. Also you might want to run a few more Watery Grave and Steam Vents over Blood Crypt, especially since you are playing Cryptic Command.

The charts shows my mana is correctly color balanced and with 4 tar pits I don't need much blue mana
December 22, 2014 5:41 p.m.
GlistenerAgent says... #23
The charts are incredibly incorrect. I would never base mana decisions on them. From a previous post, this is how I would (much closer to correctly) build your manabase:
2 Watery Grave, 2 Steam Vents, 1 Blood Crypt, 3 Island, 1 Mountain, 1 Swamp
4 Scalding Tarn, 4 Polluted Delta
4 Creeping Tar Pit, 2 Tectonic Edge, 2 Sulfur Falls
One could cut the Tectonic Edges, but I think they are important to control as you need to deal with manlands and things like Gavony Township. One could play River of Tears if you're not interested in potential color issues.

Fair enough, its your deck.
You cannot count on your spells resolving, 3-4 mana is a lot and your opponents deck capitalises on disrupting your curve and gaining huge tempo advantages. ManabLeak and Remand do nothing on the draw vs Young Pyro.
My advice is based on experience and I suggest you add Spell Snare. Its your deck however so you are free to disregard.

I will likely test both but as the most common problem cards at 2 mana at my FNM are snapcasters or glisteneragents or wall of roots I think I'm fine with this
APPLE01DOJ says... #1
U can use Pack Rat EOT. Kinda ideal for control. Not to mention the whole concept behind control is to control the board until u can safely play your threats and win. If u need more draw ur playing both unfair and black the 2 best colors for card draw.
