MadScientist I honestly don't think the point of an extreme budget deck like this is to destroy decks which spend multiple thousands of dollars on manabases alone... This deck is pretty awesome for the price. While you won't win any top Legacy events with it, Cavern of Souls makes it a lot better, too.

BobTheSlobbb I hear yah, like I mentioned it is a great build and would be fun to play. I was just mentioning that in the format that it is built for countermagic is used extensively.

"Would Oboro, Palace in the Clouds be useful for this type of deck build? Its worth about $5"

Nope again. Try $18.

While a cool deck, I'd have to say that it isn't as effective as Tour de France, which is another legacy cycling deck with Fluctuator that can win turn 1.

Frankly, I think it is a little to unreliable but its a good use of Fluctuator and this deck would be amazing if you had a way to search for Fluctuator. +1

Cool deck. Since cycling is at instant speed, the only problem is counters that prevent Fluctuator and Laboratory Maniac from entering.

I would replace Unearth with Sandbar Merfolk to FURTHER budgetise this.

To my knowledge, with cycling in this deck, you can DRAW as many cards -1 you have in ur hand with cycling without having to cycle them away. The cards you have to draw that are unable to cycle are generally Island (unless you have it in play), the other Fluctuations, and Laboratory Maniac. If I were you I would add EXACTLY 1 dispel. This would be PRETTY safe to prevent a counter.

You could put a playset of Miscalculation in there just in case some tries to counter Laboratory Maniac. Then you could counter the counter.

Or perhaps you could use Pact of Negation instead of one of the Fluctuators so that you could counter it for free

I love this deck but unfortunately it appears to loose to ANY counterspell saved for your lab manic however this deck is amazing and I totally love it!

Awesome and budget. I just love this deck, but it's so strong that none of my friends want to play against it no more....But when I do play it, I start singing "Cycle, tadada, Cycle, tadada.....".

How does it play a turn 3 win?

turn 1 is a tapped mana or island.

turn 2 can play Fluctuator (if you play island this round) or nothing if second mana comes in tapped.

Turn 3 can play Fluctuator if you played 2 rounds of tapped mana, or Laboratory Maniac if you played island this round, which means you couldn't afford to play Fluctuator on round 2, and it still would need placing in round 4.

I can't find any way this deck can win earlier than round 4, but it wins round 4 almost every single test.

For turn 3 win:

Turn 1: Land

turn 2: Untapped land, cast Fluctuator

turn 3: cycle everything until you hit Laboratory Maniac, and an Island, play those cards, then continue milling yourself until nothing left. (note, the only way to disrupt this combo is to counter the spells, removal will not working since cycling can be done at instant speed and the player will lose before Laboratory Maniac can be removed).

turn 2 would require a second untapped mana to play Fluctuator for it's 2 cost, but you reference the island (the only mana that doesn't come in tapped in your deck) to be used in turn 3 to play the Laboratory Maniac.

4-turn deck, not a 3-turn. Still, I'm probably going to build this.

Thank you turnyouover for making this deck, I definitely wanna take this to an FNM just to troll people

Also do you know of a way to make a commander version of this?

and Hodenkrieg I'd say turn four is more consistent but it definitely wins turn three often too since the Blasted Landscape comes in untapped

I just tried it out online for a bit, now I just need to paper it so I can actually see the look on people's faces as I mill myself, so fun :)

TmentonMcMenton -- Thanks for pointing that out! I had breezed over the lands and assumed all were tapped upon entry, and couldn't figure out what I was missing for the 3 step combo.

hmm.. problem is you need to draw fluctuator for this deck to win, if you dont draw him from turns 1 to 3 your pretty much f*cked up... an infect deck would own this.
