Ok so you need

Turn 1: Drop a land Turn 2: Drop a land, Play a Kiln Fiend Turn 3: Drop a land, Play any 2 Mutagenic Growth, Gut Shot, or Noxious Revival along with Assault Strobe, play Haze of Rage

3 lands, 2 Mutagenic Growth, Gut Shot or Noxious Revival AND an Assault Strobe, and a Haze of Rage

Then you need them to not have removal or else you need an Apostle's Blessing, too

Oh and a Kiln Fiend.

Each land needs to be on-colour.

You also need them to not have a blocker, and this is on turn 3. By turn 3 any Modern deck will have some form of creature, a Remand, a Repeal or some other means of just blowing you out.

If you want to run this, run it. Then show me how well you do with it, at a legitimately good tournament with an actual metagame and not just a load of derp decks trying to show off how they win on turn 38 with a 52 card combo that dies to a Bolt, Path, bounce spell or any form of permission. That or a blocker.

The fact that you're quoting the use of Haze of RageMTG Card: Haze of Rage in my deck further proves my point that you didn't do much more than read the title, the first sentence, and barreled down to the comment box rife with excitement just to dish out your unjust and inaccurate ridicule.

To add to my previous comment... I'm baffled at just how clueless you are to how this deck works. I'd like to point your attention to Distortion StrikeMTG Card: Distortion Strike, Apostle's BlessingMTG Card: Apostle's Blessing, Turn AsideMTG Card: Turn Aside, and finally Gitaxian ProbeMTG Card: Gitaxian Probe (for scouting out their hand before I go all in for the kill...) Please learn what you're talking about before you make yourself look like any more of a fool than you already have.

I like this deck a whole lot. I only playtested a few times and maybe I just got some bad draws. I had trouble getting a USEABLE mana drop for each turn 1-4. the fetch lands were a turn too slow. the dual lands worked, but also presented problems because I had trouble getting a basic island or mountain to drop so it would not come in tapped. Overall, I hate to say it but more land for my taste. Up from 19-about 22 or 23. good luck! So, I'm saying more basic lands and less duals. and maybe drop the fetch lands.

drhumbra says... #6

okay, so I just noticed that I was playing the fetch lands as being tapped when it ETB. not too bad then. however, I still think you need 20-23 lands. Thats just how I like to build my decks. Some people find less land to be okay, I usually end up waiting for a land drop.

drhumbra, this deck is perfectly capable of winning on 2-3 mana. Its all you need. If anything there might be room to remove another one.

DispelMTG Card: Dispel will take care of just about any threat to your win, including; removal, countermagic, and any kind of prevention shield like FogMTG Card: Fog.

KorApprentice says... #9

Also, you have 63 cards. You need to cut 3 cards if you want it to be consistent enough to compete.

Moobu says... #10

I always run 63 cards. Don't ask its a weird quirk lol. Yeah DispelMTG Card: Dispel is exactly what I was looking for. I'm thinking I want to run at least a couple main board. Not sure how exactly I'll be fitting them in yet.

Isn't there a counter spell that returns the spell to the owners hand for U1?

Mental MisstepMTG Card: Mental Misstep is banned in Modern and Distortion StrikeMTG Card: Distortion Strike is better than Artful DodgeMTG Card: Artful Dodge.

KorApprentice THANKS!!! So much this makes my Modern deck very viable.

When does the entire Eldrezi block phase out?

KorApprentice says... #16

Modern is not a rotating format, all of the blocks from 8th edition and Mirrodin onward will always be usable.

You've become quite the guru in this thread. =P I know somebody who has earned a player of the month nomination from me at least. (next month anyways, I shamelessly self promoted this month lol)

Gasp, shameless self promoting!? I thought you were a decent, honorable, are pretty bad. While I hate to suggest you take them out, if you really want to make the combo as consistant as possible, I think 4 DispelMTG Card: Dispel might be a good inclusion for the deck. They will act as another 4 Apostle's BlessingMTG Card: Apostle's Blessing.

Why didn't i get any love for my Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage suggestion? I still think there is one card that can push this deck just that inch further it needs to be more competitive against some of the less favorable match-ups. That being said i haven't a clue as to what it is but it must be out there. Either way i like the deck. Congratulations on your success at your Modern Meta. They were probably net-decking while you took the time to brew up your own special concoction which i like.

i was looking at cards and thought this might be good in case of removal. Postmortem LungeMTG Card: Postmortem Lunge i could be totally wrong.

wow. i wish i got this many comments on my turn 2 kill pauper( all commons deck).unfortunately it's not on this deck building website. o.k. i love this kind of deck so hear me out.... you need to drop the dragonauts for immolating souleater which with assault stobe is an insta kill if you're at 20 or 19 life. Drop the snapcasters for dig spells such as ponder/ preordain which will help you get your combo going.i do like the manamorphose however i feel you need to complement it with rites of flame so you can surprise your enemy first or second turn. Which if you have a reckless charge you can gain haste, and with haste you can attack 1st turn on the play and win withhte immolating souleater. Granted you would have to have the god hand of rites of flame x2 immolating souleaterx1 reckless chargex1 assault strobe x1 and a mountain but you gotta go for it. if you make some of these changes you are going o get turn 2 kill pretty consistently if you are willing to mulligan. you might wana try golbin tunneler in your side board so youcan make them unblockable before you pump them. oh yeah and i forgot the reckless charge gives +3/+0 and has flash back for 2 and a R. so that's pretty relavant.

I like where this deck is heading, I will have to pay attention to this and try some of it out myself. +1 from me for sure.

I really appreciate you play testing it at your local modern for me BuLLZ3Y3. I agree about the . They never really seemed to fit in as well other cards. I just don't feel like 8 creatures is enough. I do think that replacing them for some more dig is the right choice. Unfortunately my best option is Serum VisionsMTG Card: Serum Visions I believe.

gatheringgreg I also do appreciate the badass suggestion of dropping GelectrodeMTG Card: Gelectrode for Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage. I didn't mean to not recognize you as well. Sorry buddy. I appreciate you taking the time to test out the deck and offer constructive feedback.

KorApprentice At first I kind of didn't like RemandMTG Card: Remand because of putting the spell back in the hand. But then I snapped out of my stupor and realized that they'll be dead before they get to recast it if all is going well. I'll have to see where it will fit in during the next big overhaul.

Gotmarth Postmortem LungeMTG Card: Postmortem Lunge seems like it has some great potential actually. I'll have to find some room for it during play testing and see how it feels.

burntsnow I really like the idea of Immolating SouleaterMTG Card: Immolating Souleater over the Wee DragonautsMTG Card: Wee Dragonauts. The self package pump is pretty awesome. Unfortunately PreordainMTG Card: Preordain and PonderMTG Card: Ponder are both banned in modern so I won't be able to put them to use. I'm not sure if I have room for/need the mana ramp from Rite of FlameMTG Card: Rite of Flame simply because I've found the deck runs pretty good off of 2 or 3 mana from lands. ManamorphoseMTG Card: Manamorphose is in here essentially because its free pump/draw. as far as Reckless ChargeMTG Card: Reckless Charge is concerned that card is not legal in modern.

Above all I want to thank everyone for their interest, support, and suggestions in this deck. Hopefully the new revision will make it the unstoppable force I'm shooting for. =)

I don't recommend RemandMTG Card: Remand for this deck, you should not add it. I was trying to tell Minousmancer the name of the card he was asking about. DispelMTG Card: Dispel will be all the counter magic you need, with Turn AsideMTG Card: Turn Aside on the sideboard.
