Wouldn't a card like Blue Sun's Zenith or Surrakar Spellblade help you here in the offchance that you run out of cards to play without winning the game? That's all that I can suggest to you, I'm obscenely new to the modern format.

sorry i figured out you were making a modern deck until after i posted it. which then you can just ignore just about everything i said except for the immolating souleater. because literally almost every card i mentioned is not legal in modern.
However, if you want to make a bad ass pauper deck then listen to everything. i had a deck when kiln fiend was legal that got to top 8 at fnm with gut shot as the only uncommon, and that included the mana base. however gut shot is not optimal. vapor snag has waaaayyyy more reach than it. just think about it, bounce a blocker, bounce your creatures if they're gonna die, the point of damage to yourself when you bounce your creature isn't great but on the flip side doing a point to your foe may win you the game. noxious revival may be a good sideboard option and if you already have a cantrip in your hand you can easily get whatever card you want from your graveyard for 2 life. or possibly marrow shards if you're facing a creature heavy deck. honestly i think you could get away with less mana too because you have fetches and duals which makes your base waaaaaaayyyy stronger than mine was. remember mulliganning is one of those things ur gonna have to do. your deck is more than capable of winning on a mull to 6/5.

serum visions and sleight of hand need to go in ....... agreed!!! cantrips will make your deck so much more consistant.

KorApprentice thanks, about helping me with the name for Remand, I need to add that to a deck of mine.
I agree with [[]], about him saying "Dispel will be all the counter magic you need, with Turn Aside on the sideboard." not as powerful as Mental Misstep but close and better than even Counterspell.

Mental Misstep is just another card on the long list of banned for modern.

Updated with the newest tweaks. Going to play test here a bit and see how it feels with mana.

No I haven't, it seems potent if I could find room for it in the deck. Having enough issues making sure I have a creature.

I'd swap out Serum Visions for Livewire Lash and then swap out Vapor Snag for Enclave Cryptologist. That way you get much more draw, get a good one drop, get a creature that you can use with the lash in a pinch, get something to use extra mana on, and get something to use as a sacrificial blocker if needed.
You wont lose any draw ability (and will actually gain some) and if you need creature removal then you should just be running lightning bolt or some good blockers such as Guard Gomazoa.

What abou adding Chrome Mox to do the trick in second turn? :) Just thinking.

The problem with Chrome Mox is he would have to replace something in the deck with it, would have to exile a card, and wouldn't get the buff for casting a instant or sorcery (assuming that's what he replaced/exiled).

It is a problem, but its still possible to do 20 dmg in turn 2. For example. First turn: land, Chrome Mox + exiled card, Kiln Fiend. Second turn: land, Assault Strobe, Apostle's Blessing, Distortion Strike. There are also other possibilities how to do the trick and kill in second turn.

The other problem is that Chrome Mox is banned in Modern.

Karkain, Fog is dealt with using Dispel. It's been fairly consistent. +1 if you really like the deck though =D

At turn 16 I still had one land. That's it. And before that, I mulliganed thrice.

Wow, I finally decided to take a look at this deck. Very impressive. I've been rifling through tons of magic cards trying to come up with some original ideas for modern. Good job on this idea. +1

Well played, Moobu, assuming he have the mana to play it. Or if you had the luck, play a second Fog =P Definitely +1

danman5550 that sounds incredibly unlucky. I won't deny that the deck has its occasional hiccup but I will ask you to give it a few more tries. I'm sure you'll notice that scenario isn't the norm.

nice deck, i love decks like this, aside from the land being pricey its a good cheap deck to play :) id guess the only problem would be not drawing a creature since the counts quite low.. but im gonna try n run this :D +1

Removal seems like a huge problem to this deck. I'm also worried by the way that a win on turn 3 with a god hand seems amazing, when Modern IS the "four-turn format".

Also, Rite of Flame is banned in Modern. It is my personal opinion that Wee Dragonauts will be much more useful for you than Immolating Souleater. I'm not sure how necessary Manamorphose is for you, if you want dig spells you could drop those for Serum Visions or Sleight of Hand.
