HELIOD'S ARMOR is named after the key cards in this deck: Heliod's Pilgrim which tutors either Brilliant Halo or Ethereal Armor. Based on these cards, this deck follows the traditional archetype of the "White Weenie" by flooding the battlefield with cheap creatures and buffing them up to overwhelm your opponent. This deck was not built for winning competitions, but rather to have fun on a budget in Magic's most accessible format: Pauper.

Through the Kor Skyfisher and Whitemane Lion your opponent might be thinking you're running just another Blink or ETB/Tempo deck with Helpful Hunter and Spirited Companion, but in fact these creatures are your sideshow. Their job is to draw down your deck until you can get an Aura. Once you an Aura in your hand, slap it on Battlefield Raptor or Healer's Hawk for the greatest effect. For the midgame, Sunblade Samurai was added, which synergizes with Spirited Companion and Ethereal Armor nicely, providing a buff that will scale up in the late game. One of the glaring weaknesses of this deck is that it can be picked apart by decks with lots of removal spells, but that's just part of the risk!
