So, we have three versions: Mono-Green Warriors with value/suprise sideboard, Mono-Green nasty creatures (Ooze, Witchstalker, Lumberknot), and Green/X Warriors with splash(es) that could solve many problems against top tier decks. Which one do you think we should pursue first?

I think the Green/X splash would provide the most value while keeping the deck lean.

Ok, so let's go looking for cool Warriors and useful effects to deal with annoying decks :)

I'm running into problems against infect decks w/ flyers. This deck currently doesn't have anything to counteract that.

Really? I would think Blighted Agent would be more common, and more of a threat. With all the fights it should be relatively fine, Melira, Sylvok Outcast can give infect decks a rough time though. If flying in general, or flying infect are big problems Gravity Well is probably best for you, although I would consider Plummet and Aerial Predation.

I personally haven't run into any issues with flyers. Any large threatening ones are easy fight targets. And smaller ones are usually brought down to block your giant creatures.

I am not a professional, but possibly Foe-Razer Regent?

April 6, 2015 6:38 p.m.

Sagarys says... #8

@ShadowUmbreon Foe-Razer has been looked at already and is just a bit too slow for how aggro this deck is. Thanks though!

It certainly wouldn't work for this deck, but a Jund fight deck with Kresh the Bloodbraided would be friggin cool. I don't know how it would work, but it would be awesome lol.

I feel like there might be something in Agent of the Fates as well. Guaranteed 2 creatures dead with a fight spell. Doesn't fix our other issues, but it's pretty sweet.

MarioLL says... #11

Sagarys, that Agent is ultra sweet! Especially on turn 5 with Pit Fight ready to follow.

April 7, 2015 6:59 a.m.

kameenook says... #12

Actually that agent is a little ineffective, you declare targets as the spell is cast, so the heroic trigger will go on the stack before the spell resolves. If the opponent knows what he/she is doing, he/she will just sacrifice the targeted creature before the fight resolves.

Sagarys says... #13

Took me a second to realize how that works, but yup, you're right. He'd just sac the fight target. Never mind! Thanks for the catch man.

I'm thinking Avatar of the Resolute could fill the 3 slots left open by Centaur Battlemaster and Staunch-Hearted Warrior. He's not a warrior, but he's relevant at any point in the game. At worst, he's a 3/2 with Trample and Reach on turn 2. But if he comes down later with all our Outlast and Heroics + Bramblewood buffs, he has the potential to be pretty beefy for only .

Why not Hunt the Hunter instead of Epic Confrontation?

April 7, 2015 1:55 p.m.

Sagarys says... #16

Hunt the Hunter only targets green creatures.

April 7, 2015 2:09 p.m.

aas713 says... #17

Oh, I didn't realize it can only target other green opponent creatures as well haha, that makes it much worse than what I though it was!

April 7, 2015 5:54 p.m.

Sagarys says... #18

No worries! It's a decent sideboard alternative to Epic Confrontation if you're up against a green deck. Saves you some mana.

I once again extend my recommendation for Wolfir Silverheart. Great with trample, and it's a warrior!

April 7, 2015 6:56 p.m.

Sagarys says... #20

I love me some Wolfir Silverheart too man. But the Centaur Battlemaster got cut because they were way too slow. By turn 5, if you're not hammering into your opponent with some pumped up Heroic creatures, you're in trouble. He's awesome, but he isn't aggro enough. This deck has trouble controlling the midgame, so it needs to dominate early to win.

DBCooper posted a Fight deck with Phyrexian Obliterator. Quite extreme mana, but the effect looks super sweet. And I don't mean the effect of blowing up all opponent's permanents. I can easily imagine this scared counting permanents and comparing that number to a power of a creature he/she wants to play. This is probably very similar to a feeling when seeing a Phyrexian in real life.

We think in other colours for Fight deck, we'll be having appropriate mana sources. 1-2 copies of Obliterator as an ultimate suprise may be great.

April 7, 2015 8:10 p.m.

kameenook says... #22

Phyrexian Obliterator probably wants 2-3 Urborg, 4 Verdant Catacombs and 4 Overgrown Tomb AT A MINIMUM. In a green oriented deck he isn't the greatest, but if you prioritized black, it would make it much easier, and it would be awesome.

What about Battlegrowth, it will trigger heroic for only and it will work well with Mutant's Prey.

April 7, 2015 10:14 p.m.

Joemomma65 says... #24

Actually, Briar Shield is far better.

April 7, 2015 10:21 p.m.

Joemomma65 says... #25

Wait, sorry Briar Shield doesn't use a counter, but Burst of Strength may work just as well.
