This is my current working Talrand deck, mostly just for play with my local EDH group, somewhat slightly competitive depending on who shows.

I'm looking to win or stop our heaviest hitter in his tracks.my budgets tight, but I do have some cards on the way for adjustments, as well as a hefty collection to pull from, any advice would be cool.

My current plan is to run day of the dragons as a fun finisher, or perhaps as a means of perma stealing creatures

Played a 3 player free for all twice and ended up taking both games, the first game by counterspelling a presence and denying my opponents any presence, the second game by amassing 8 birds early and having enough strength and board to survive Talrand being tucked.

The deck was very fun and cohesive, and the leyline in game 2 was a great way to start.

made some changes after having the cards in my hand

  • shared discovery seemed good on paper, but sorcery speed combined with tapping down 3 attacks/ blocks never really felt good. it was something I could do, and if it was always instant then I'd for sure run it, but instead I threw in

  • Keep Watch draws cards when I attack, draws cards when I block, draws cards when someone else is dying, thank you instant speed.

  • think twice I love this card, but in a long drawn out game draw a card/generate a 2/2 flyer would be could if it could have a longer effect

  • oona's grace

much costlier, but it can dump those islands I don't want when the moment is right and instead draw me an answer, or just generate way more birds.

  • Ensnare

Awesome card, but its pretty much lets reset the attack cycle for a turn around the board, never got to use it for a full swing, so it might not be gone forever, but for now.

  • curfew not really fulfilling the role of the card I removed, but its a tempo style edict in blue, that helps in multiplayer.

  • gainsay good cheap guy for counter wars, but I almost always win the war

  • miscalculation also cheap, but also replaces itself when it's unusable

  • geist snatch 4 mana counter that is targeted? I don't even know what I was thinking

  • counterspell honestly just had to find one of my copies

  • unsummon with curfew this card is replaced, although it did help

  • drift of phantasms

actually gonna be throwing in more transmute when I can, if I plan on catching up to the other blue player.
