A Abzan deck, with a warrior sub-theme.
I really love this deck, and i built it when i saw an Orzhov warrior deck.
Of course, this deck is more mid-rangy than a BW Warrior deck, as he contains cards like
Anafenza, the Foremost
and
Siege Rhino
.
The problem is that i'm experiencing some problems with it, as it is not as efficient as i would like to. Good point is that the only cards that are rotating next Fall are Temples and Removal, so the core of this deck remains intact.
Bloodsoaked Champion
: Very efficient 1-drop who can create pressure in the late game when i have no more cards in hand.
Warden of the First Tree
: Love this card. However, a bit weak as it is often stuck at a 3/3 body.
Mardu Woe-Reaper
: Don't like this dude so much, but he's a white 1-drop and he can ruin any graveyard based strategy (aka Sidisi Whip / Deathmist Raptor + Den Protector
)
Chief of the Edge
: The main reason warrior decks were built. Works pretty well with Blood-Chin Rager + Secure the Wastes
.
Den Protector
: I found it to be a better 2-drop than
Heir of the Wilds
. Plus, getting back a Siege Rhino from the graveyard is pretty sweet. His first ability is also valuated if played with
Chief of the Edge
or
Anafenza, the Foremost
Blood-Chin Rager
: Well, the only reason this card is here is because of
Secure the Wastes
i guess. I didn't find a better creature here.
Anafenza, the Foremost
: Excellent 3-drop here, and wor out really well with
Den Protector
. Also boosts any weak creature that we played during the first 3 turns.
Siege Rhino
: A must-have in any Abzan deck. Really. One of the reasons i'm playing green. It gives some consistency in the late game.
Surrak, the Hunt Caller
: Only a 1-of because of his mana cost that doesn't combo well with
Collected Company
. He's a warrior !
Collected Company
: Amazing card, specially when revealing two
Chief of the Edge
.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor
: Playing him just because of his +1, and eventually to block a flyer like Wingmate Rokh or a dragon.
