Creature (158)

Zombie Horde is a fun game mode to test out the resilience of any deck or as an alternate mode to play with your friends (or enemies)!

NOTICE! Walking Corpse is used in place of 2/2 Zombie Tokens. Rot Hulk is used in place of 5/5 Zombie Giant Tokens. These do NOT have to be used in the numbers listed and are only to show the ratio between the two types of token creatures (also subjective). All of the cards in this list are meant to be suggestions for however you/your group wants to play. This is NOT meant to be played as a full deck, but it can be.

  1. Every player = +20 life (1 player = 20, 4 players = 80, etc.).
  2. Players start with 3 normal turns to set up a board state.
  3. The game is then played with regular rules (same phases, etc.)
  1. During the Zombie turn, cards (tokens) are drawn and put onto the battlefield until a non-token card is put onto the battlefield (i.e. Draw 4 2/2 Zombie Tokens and then draw Death Baron to end the draw/first main phase phase.)
  2. All Zombies have haste and must attack each combat if able.
  3. The Zombie deck has infinite mana (and is unaffected by cards like Propaganda ).
  4. It is possible for players to choose which Zombie effects will be used during the game (mana abilities, ETB abilities, tap abilities, +X/+X abilities, etc.)
  5. The standard objective is to have the Zombie deck make the LEAST amount of choices possible (i.e. Murder should be avoided because it forces the Zombie deck to make a choice, even if random). However, if a player wishes to control (or actually PLAY) the Zombie deck, cards other than Creatures will make the game much more interesting (and difficult!).
  1. Combat and spell damage done to the Zombie deck will mill cards from the Zombie library into the graveyard (i.e. if Healer's Hawk damages the Zombie deck for 1, one card will be milled from the Zombie library into the graveyard). The players win when the Zombie deck can no longer draw cards AND all zombies are defeated.
  2. In addition to the previous option (library into graveyard) players can also choose to "burn the bodies", meaning combat damage will move Zombie cards from the graveyard into exile. The players win when all Zombie cards have been "burned" (exiled). This will increase game time and difficulty especially if the Zombie deck involves reanimation (graveyard back to battlefield).
Most importantly, this format is meant to be casual, subjective, and fun. Any alterations of these rules (player life total, win conditions, graveyard hate, Zombie deck size, Zombie spells (not creatures), Zombie difficulty, etc.) is purely up to you and/or your group.
