I really like the new manifest mechanic, and decided to try and make a standard deck that could properly abuse it. This deck is also a work in progress.
The basic idea is a quick horde of critters via Monastery Mentor, or turn 3/4
Hooded Hydra
s. I doubt this will be anything approaching a tournament caliber deck, but should be fun to play.
Did some solitare playtesting, and even holding up mana for negate/stubborn denial, this deck can get out of hand fairly quickly.
Critters:
Monastery Mentor abuses the large number of non-creature spells in the deck to crap tokens. Also prowess. Also the tokens have prowess.
Hooded Hydra
GG for a 5/5 that craps out 5 snakes when it dies? Yup. Manifest are fun.
Master of Pearls
That anthem effect sure is sweet at 1W
Courser of Kruphix We all know what he does.
Enchantments:
Cloudform
3 mana manifest that gives flight and hexproof.
Instants:
Force Away
Bounce and sometimes draw
Valorous Stance
Save a critter or kill a fatty, both are good
Reality Shift Removal....i guess. Bant doesn't have great removal in Standard.
Disdainful Stroke / Stubborn Denial Disdainful deals with most of the big threats (Seige Rhinos, Wingmates, Stormbreaths, etc) and Denial takes care of annoying things like Anger of the Gods
Sorceries:
Soul Summons
Basic 2 mana manifest. Makes a dude, triggers prowess.
Write into Being
Basically scry 2, but manifest one of them. Also prowess
Sideboard:
Shift away from the control style strategy to a more creature based attack,
Brimaz, King of Oreskos This guy is a house
Daxos of Meletis
Card draw
Wildcall
More manifest to fit anywhere on curve
Fleecemane Lion Good body, good monstrous
Peel from Reality
Bounce
Ajani Steadfast Good pumps, -2 is a nice anthem for the horde of guys this deck generates
