I see how you are trying to control things like casting on my turn and attacking you but I'm saying that I'm not going to care about attacking you. I'm going to rip your enchantress and about 2-3 other cards out of your hand by them time you get to your turn 2(assuming I went first) and then I'm going to cast Goblin Bombardment and start shooting you with Bloodghast and Gravecrawler. I'm not trying to be arrogant or come off abrasive, I'm just trying to help you build to what I know is the basic meta of many black decks by pitting you against very common scenarios. I'm just not convinced that you would be able to do much once I go turn 2 Thoughtsieze + Cabal Therapy + flashback Cabal Therapy.

I completely get you there. I work 13 hours a day 6 days a week the only relief I get is that my work computer runs this site so if work dies down I get a bit of magic time. I love the concept of the deck I'm just worried about how it will stand up in the legacy meta that I know and play in. If you need any help let me know and I'll be posting my zombie bombardment deck up in a day or two and I will link it to you so you see what I'm talking about. =) Still a +1 from me though!

Well my testing of the list has me going x-0 a lot on xmage testing I usually struggle against show and tell aggro doesn't really stand a chance once I get an enchantress effect and a way to stop or punish attacks Elephant Grass / Solitary Confinement in fact I pretty much win on the spot with 2 enchantress effects and solitary

As far as bombardment goes, it isn't a popular deck and shouldn't be that much of a worry. Rug/ur/sultai Delver, Shardless Sultai, Show and Tell, Storm, Burn, Death and Taxes, Stoneblade, Miracles, elves, and maybe reanimator.

I don't know how I overlooked Solitary Confinement but that is actually a really nice effect to keep you safe. It brings me back to Island Sanctuary though because then you have no cumulative upkeep and you can kill 2 birds with one stone when you skip your draw. Then sideboard Elephant Grass for flying decks maybe. But I completely missed Solitary Confinement. Well played.

Maybe keep Elephant Grass in the main and run Island Sanctuary over Moat. I see no downside in that.

Moat is better overall solitary's upkeep in negligible as it's not cumulative and you're normally drawing 7 cards a turn

I'm saying that when you are drawing 7 cards a turn I would think skipping your draw for Island Sanctuary and Solitary Confinement at the same time would be better than using 4 mana on Moat which is only slightly better. I know you have no mana issues with Serra's Sanctum but its just my view. Also do you ever end up in a situation that Path to Exile would be useful?

Island Sanctuary is 2 mana but you need to look at it as a turn 3-4 spell the same as Moat then tell me which you'd prefer to play? The one you can situationally play early on or the one you can always play early and get the full benefits from. The giving up a draw spell makes it so it's useless to play without the card engine they will try their hardest to deny you

Island Sanctuary nonbos with Solitary Confinement. Solitary makes you skip your draw step and Island Sanctuary only has an effect if you skip a draw during the draw step, and so will never have an effect since you never even had the step in your turn.
Blind Obedience is good against Sneak Attack, I thought I suggested it as a sideboard when we first started talking about this but didn't push it.
Mesa Enchantress is never better than Enchantress's Presence. Presence is an enchantment and that matters in more ways than one.

why mainbord Rest in Peace ? he will exile your Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
May 18, 2015 1:22 p.m.
tyforthevenom says... #15
one, emrakul doesn't hit the graveyard in this deck unless you really messed up
two, Rest in Peace and Helm of Obedience is an infinite mill combo that can go off as early as turn 3

Welcome to tappedout, where you don't get upvotes unless you create a themed deck description with a gif.
May 18, 2015 2:04 p.m.
I don't understand the point of the Helm of Obedience... Are you targeting yourself to get Emrakul or your opponent to mill them out? Also, wouldn't the Helm miss Emrakul because he would be shuffled into the deck immediatly each time? Unless I am missing something, that is how that would work isnt it?

tyforthevenom says... #24
You tap helm targeting your opponent with x=1 Rest in Peace stops cards hitting the graveyard so it repeats infinitely

this deck really needs a Savannah or two to fetch for
InDirectX says... #1
Alright, I understand a little better now. It would help players who didn't build this deck a lot more if you discussed a little bit more explicitly in the description how to deck is intended to function and the means in which your cards do that.
