I'm back and ready to wage grammatically incorrect and convaluted Holy War against the enemies of our kingdom of Storm.
That's right brothers, for too long has Saif al-Bloodpod (Dawa) threatened our Eastern Thematic Levies. For too long have you (you!) let him, by playing cards like Paradox Engine: this satanic contraption, while fine as a budgeted wincondition, forces us proud Storm Players to have over five artifact mana in play-- a wholesome Storm Player's main threat is their ability to kill at any time, and setting up for Paradox Engine removes this surprise--a card in hand who's average cost will be 2 (your deck's cmc), and yet another card in hand that takes this circuitous combo anywhere. There are better means of gaining consistency and winning with Storm, my fellow bretheren! (cheers) especially you, young Deco1995, who has access to cards and wealth, which our other holy warriors may not. For I see that you and I are of the dynatoi (aristocratic families), and it would be an insult to leave Candelabra out of your deck while your brothers must go to war with simple Reality Spasms! Candelabra is a disgusting Magic card and should see play in literally every Hightide deck. You neglect the Helm of Awakening Richard Garfield, our Lord and Savior! has so graciously given unto you! Any man calling himself a "Storm Player" should know that Helm is paramount to casting over 20 spells in one turn, by refusing to play it, you deny yourself many storm lines made possible, and give Saif an unforgivable advantage. Voltaic Key shouldn't ever been in your arsenal, it requires too much for too little, and it could easily be the Helm your deck sorely needs.
Continuing. I see that you are of the Sceptar/Reversal sect, and while I believe our cards need to be more effective than these--a two card combo that is only just above completeley usless without the other--I will let this sleight slide, as our good Emperour Leo VI has continued to amend these tensions, continuing the tradition of Saint Irene. What I can not abide by, my fellow Storm Player, is your disclusion of the greastest of all Garfield's gifts to us: Nectropotence. This card lets you outlast the raiding Bloodpodists, giving you the fuel and vigor to pierce their fierce calvary with your spear on the long battlefield. I also find Search For Azcanta to be a particualrly good weapon if you find your games going long, as it adds cards to your graveyard, without stripping any from your hand, and flips into a mana rock with an ability after a Windfall.
To the instants. Spell Pierce will almost always be a weaker Red Elmental Blast, and REB can double as removal and destroy any traitours, duelist Labratory Maniacs, who begin to gather strength on the borders of our Armenian Themes. I am not a fan of Muddle the Mixture, I understand its purpose, but I believe to carry a subpar card around with you, only to strengthen a subpar weapon, is incorrect. The rest of your instant suite will suffice against the Sword of the Dynasty, though I can see Remand beginning to show its age. Perhaps replace it with with a Thoughsieze effect, as flashing hand disruption back can be backbreaking for the foes of Storm, and gives us the necessary knowledge to strike the final, crushing blow!
You DARE! You DARE defy our holiest of Masters? by playing a Baral over a Helm of Awakening! You must fix this sleight at once! Not only does Baral cost Blue mana to cast, the thing is also a creature and does not lower the cost of your artifacts! Lowering the cost of your Artifacts is the ultimate goal, and leads to far more explosive turns than anything that the false prophet Baral could possibly offer. Helm can be further deployed as a simple stax removal, as it will negate the effect of a Sphere. Other than this, the rest of your creatures appear to be wholesom Storm components.
I believe that your deck should have a Praetor's Grasp. What better way to venerate our beloved Basileus Romaion and Patriarch than to use a card crafted in their image? It will often have many of the same targets (Necro, Ad Naus, Wheel various, Mind's Desire/DD if there is another storm player), removes the option completely from the opponent, and does not ding you like the sacrlige monster that is Grim Tutor. I suggest picking one up. Though you are a member of the Dynatoi, I see the land rights of peasants passed by our last two Basileus Romaion have hit you harder than some, and that you lack the funds to purchase the estates of Time Twister--I'd say save up your solidi--over these foreign foils you seem to love so much--to purchase one. The card is invaluable to Kess, as it gives you another Wheel to flash back, and shuffles your library in case an opponent was aggressively Wheeling earlier.
Dealing with your alternatives. I've already spoken to you about some, fellow Storm Player. Yet, I see there are still some concern in your eye about this holy campagin, so let me guide you further. DD and Labman should always be in a Kess deck. Unlike the other DD decks, Labman is not a dead draw, as she affords you the option to run a Demonic Consultation as a more consistent win conditino than it would otherwise be. Gemstone Cavern should be in. Play it over an Island, it's another copy of Chrom Mox that can be Wheeled away, there is almost no downside. Tainted Pact is not good enough to be deployed, there are better options from the Anatolikon. Paradoxacal Outcome is the Greek Fire of your arsenal--well Mind's Desire/DD/Ad Naus are probably closer to that, so it's more like the triple walls which protect our holy captial. The card pulls its weight massively; it does everything a Storm Player could want: it draws cards, it adds mana, it resets Candels, can reset Kess, it adds storm. Always play this card.
Other than these minor things, I believe you are already well prepared to carry the banner of Bystorium (I tried alright). Happy Storming, and my Garfield guide your sword in the wars to come.
What am I even doing anymore.
