Cool deck, I like the both hidden strings and auras aspect of this deck. I run a deck that's just hidden strings but I'm thinking I might move this direction once Born of the God's is out. +1 and hooray for humans!

@soulsoar11I'm not sure that Phalanx Leader has a place in this deck, although, he does go good with the name. haha. I'm not a fan of having a WW two drop and I'm not certain there are enough creatures for him to really have too much of an effect. However, I will give him a test sometime. Thanks for the suggestion!
@JamestheJooHoorah! Thanks for the +1. I've considered using the Hidden Strings +Nivmagus Elemental mechanic myself. Especially in my Cipher...it burns.deck that feeds off cipher (Hidden Strings and Hands of Binding ) to burn with Guttersnipe and and swing with an unblockable beefed Nivix Cyclops or a couple transformed Delver of Secrets Flip . If all goes to plan, it can consistently win on turn 4. I did have it all Standard before Theros bumped out Delver of Secrets Flip and Artful Dodge .

Yeah delver is out but Aqueous Form does the trick and lets you scry.

This is good, but being a fan of B/W Heroic myself I see one flaw, and that is your defense against removal. I don't know about your meta, but in mine I verse a huge amount of mono black/gruul/esper control and they all doomblade/heros downfall/thunderstrike/ devour flesh me to death before my little hoplites can become full blown Heracles'. It gets even worse when later game I try to get my guys out and enchant them only to have them get 2,3, or 4 for 1 with the removal we face. I suggest adding more Gods Willing (yay! scry AND heroic!) and Mizzium Skin (yay! they don't die AND heroic!). Even when I run a playset of both of them I often end up having only one hero at a time, since I can't really afford to let even 1 land not get tapped for enhancements/more heros. But then again this is kinda useless information if your meta is more casualish (I wish mine was, cause then Heros would ROCK). Anyway good deck! +1 from me!
TL;DR : more Gods Willing and Mizzium Skin , less enchantments, good deck.

I agree with Kale64 this deck is good for casual play but if you bring it to a FNM you might have some trouble against a lot of standard decks. Banisher Priest
is just a PAIN.
It's easy with Ethereal Armor to think that more enchantments are better... but enchantments rely so heavily on the creature REMAINING that well.. you don't want them to be all that you are relying on. I even tried to be proactive by using Pacifism on their creatures but that didn't QUITE work out.
My suggestion? Cut the Chosen by Heliod and one of the Ordeal of Heliod for some more protection. Or find a way to recur all those auras that isn't too clunky. Simple removal would just tear this deck apart.

I think I played against you or somebody with the same concept on Cockatrice just the other day. Even the main board Wurmcoil Engine . I think every BW mana base should run at least a single Vault of the Archangel , if not two.

Yep, that was me. I like my Wurmcoil Engine . haha. I've changed it a bit now, but just hadn't updated it on here yet. It's now updated and 2xVault of the Archangel already added, I love that card. Thanks for the suggestion!

I don't understand the singleton Well of Lost Dreams
February 9, 2014 2:39 p.m.
Having Well of Lost Dreams on the field is great to keep your hand from emptying out because nearly everything you do will cause you to gain life in this deck, but you certainly don't want to draw into a second one. Though, two may be the best approach to help better the chances of getting one in hand. I'll have to try it out.

neat, I love Jace's Erasure decks, even though I generally hate mill as a strategy.
Specifically I like passive mill; the kind that works because of something you're doing already like Erasure or Hedron Crab .

I would swap out 2x Dream Fracture for 2 more Remand . I think the tempo created by Remand is better suited for this deck. Furthermore, it allows you a better chance to counter a turn early which is crucial in a format like Modern. I realize mill is the ultimate goal, but you may wish to consider Snapcaster Mage in order to flashback some needed cards.

if you are gunna add blue I would recommend Aqueous Form

Never looked at a R/W Soul Sisters + Norin, but would Serra Ascendant work well? It's human, makes a great beater, gains you lots of life if you can manage it, etc.
As well, how about Lightning Helix over Bolt in this case? Deals three damage, yet still gains life.
Thous I would just put another Exile over Dismember. And Blood Moon I think would hurt you more with all the non basics you have.
April 24, 2014 10:50 p.m.
I've considered, and am still considering 1-2 Serra Ascendant . They're are very nice if I'm meeting that 30 life quota, otherwise, it's pretty much another Myr token. Also, it can be tutored with Ranger of Eos , which is nice. I believe I'll begin testing it as a 1-of and see how it performs.
Lightning Helix , especially if I include Serra Ascendant , is not a bad idea, however, I do like that Lightning Bolt is only a single red mana.
Path to Exile is probably the best removal Modern has, but if you're playing against Twin Exarch or another combo deck, then that extra bit of mana can just accelerate them faster to being able to play what they need. When facing those decks, I normally side in an extra Dismember , 2x Suppression Field , and 2-3 Wear / Tear .
As for Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon , I almost always have a basic Plains on the field, because as long as I have one source of red mana, then I can afford to use a fetch land to grab one early game, if I don't draw one. Thus far, it has worked wonderfully. Especially well against Tron, Selesnya/Bant Hexproof, Jund, and other decks that use nearly all Non-Basics.

I think I may take one Norin out for another Ajani's Pridemate
. The Pridemate gets out of control and having more than one Norin isn't 100% necessary although it is kind of a cute trick.
Genesis Chamber
is awesome in this deck!
Overall, I love it. +1!
May 6, 2014 12:13 p.m.
Bitterblossom is the best token generator in my opinion. I would take out Lavamancer, Serra Ascendant, and Iroas for 3-4 copies.
May 6, 2014 6:17 p.m.
@MindAblaze! Ajani's Pridemate + Genesis Chamber + Soul Warden is a nasty piece of work, for sure. I'll do some playtesting with him as 3-of and see how it goes, though, I may keep Norin the Wary as 4. I always want at least one of him and drawing an extra isn't bad if I already have a bit of a board presence. However, if I don't have a Genesis Chamber or something Norin the Wary can pump, drawing another may be the last thing I'd want. Thanks man!
@NateJH Bitterblossom is such a great card. I'll take that into consideration, thank you!

Pithing Needle over Suppression Field and Proclamation of Rebirth over Immortal Servitude ?
Prehcise says... #1
@PriestessKikyo1 Thank you for the suggestions. I have considered Detention Sphere , it would work also towards Ethereal Armor while giving me a good removal. I actually have a playset of them in another deck of mine. I really do like Divine Reckoning though, due to me only needing one creature on the battlefield to buff, not to mention a possible flashback, in case the game was not going exactly as planned for me. I do really like Augury Adept , however, I'm just not certain if it would hold a strong enough place in this deck, with is being a 3-drop 2/2. Now, if it were a 2-drop 1/1 with the same ability? Then absolutely!
