Arcades, the Strategist is a beautiful (and, from what I've seen deckcycled on this website, incredibly popular) card. It lets you put down a bunch of good blockers while reaping card advantage, then turns all of those blockers into beaters.

I took him one step further into a Stax-ish place. I'm looking to establish a game lock by making it so that only my creatures can attack, and then I also have ways to prevent people from ever touching me.

Key Combos

-Archetype of Imagination + Magus of the Moat

Only my creatures can attack. If nobody can answer this, it's probably game.

-Arcades, the Strategist + Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive + Tree of Redemption

-Assault Formation + Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive + Tree of Redemption

It takes a while to set up, and they'll probably see it coming, but I'll probably be close to or at my starting life total, so this can be a game-ender as well.

Attack Prevention

Aside from the Magusing combo above, these are effects (besides my wall army) that can prevent opponents from attacking.

-propoganda

- Ghostly Prison

- Baird, Steward of Argive

Other Necessities

The deck's counterspell suite was specifically chosen not to answer threats, but to prevent my own threats from being answered. I'm not worried about creatures - the walls can handle them for me.

Vigilance enablers are also an essential part of an Arcades deck - there's no point leaving yourself open behind the wall army.
