Firetra, don't get me wrong, this is a decent play you described there... but I think that apart from that, Soulmender is rarely a good drop...
And since you play lots of 4 drops, you could up that land counter a bit or include 1-2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx (or both). You have an early game deck and if you don't hit your fourth land on turn 4, lots of your cards remain dead...
I don't know about Meditation Puzzle . Cards that do nothing apart from giving a bit life feel like you simply trade 0 for 1 with the enemy.
And since you play with auras, you ABSOLUTELY need some protection, man! Throw in some Brave the Elements , Gods Willing , Ephemeral Shields , even Ajani's Presence would be good, but do not allow your enemy to remove your enchanted dudes so easily. Almost every deck plays at least some sort of removal/shut down.
And concerning Spectra Ward : you could try to play less creatures and focusing more on buffing those you have out. By the way, Ordeal of Heliod is another great aura you should consider.

This deck looks exactly like what I want to be playing in my playgroup. It is different and my playtesting has shown it to be alot of fun. Big +1 from me. The only addition I would likely make would be to add Soldier of the Pantheon for both protection from multicolored and a bunch of life gain triggers.

I might suggest replacing Soulmender or other creatures for one more heroic +1/+1 dude like Favored Hoplite , Akroan Skyguard , Phalanx Leader or even Fabled Hero . I say this because you've included one of my favorite card combos Sunbond + Ordeal of Heliod .
With Hero of Iroas down the whole combo only costs 4 mana and if you drop it on a heroic dude like the ones I mentioned and swing in the same turn you instantly proc Ordeal of Heliod and the dude goes from a 1/2 to a 14/15 in one turn. One extra mana for a Gods Willing , which also procs heroic for one more counter, and it's just about game over.
This deck is like a cross between my old heroic lifegain deck and the full white soldier token deck i'm working on right now. I dig it.
+1

Austinmtg, you're right. Especially because Wall of Essence doesn't trigger Ajani's Pridemate necessarily every turn. When you have both out, I can imagine that the enemy won't attack at all, so to not feeding him counters...

I came across this deck and was reading people's suggestions. I really like this deck concept (and in fact I'm building one very similar to it). I think a lot of you guys have really good advice to give, and I would love to get some feedback on my deck!
Check mine out: Heroic Lifegain Combo

I think your going in to many directions. It sounds like you are focusing on anji's pridemate and thats cool i have a similar deck. Throw in some of the Sungrace Pegasus 1/2 flyer with life link to help out ur soul mender. Possible to add in Profane Memento for life gain big time.Same with Staff of the Sun Magus Wall of Essence can be a beast with some of these cards.Your Preeminent Captain is kind of a waste with these small guys. Id use him to get the Big Boys on the field like Boros Battleshaper or Palisade Giant even non white soldiers like Foundry Champion until he rotates. Lavinia of the Tenth could be great. These are just the M15 and standard ones off the top of my head.Biggest this is dont get pulled to far off track, keep a good mana curve and focus.I like what ya got going. +1

@judoka219 =Thank you for the advice, I realized after my games that Preeminent Captain and Ordeal of Heliod were really getting me nowhere. So I put in Profane Memento and Sungrace Pegasus , one that provides life for killing off the enemy and one to block fliers and deal damage that the enemy cant reach. Thank you.

Replaced Raise the Alarm with Celestial Flare for more removal and because Raise the Alarm doesn't seem to help much.

NP. Lot of creatures that give life to really optimize Anjis Pridemate. Goal is to gain life from multiple sources before attack. Try Staff of the Sun Magus too it really ramped up Pridemate for me in an obscene was.

have you thought of maybe putting in ethereal armor?
August 23, 2014 1:29 a.m.
yes I have, but the problem is being that I am "trying" to keep my deck post rotation. The only reason why I have the m14 cards in there is because at the moment they are essential to my deck. So once rotation happens I'm going to have to look for a different card to play with.

Banishing Light does not behefit from Hero of Iroas as it is not an aura, and Brave the Elements does not protect your creatures from Supreme Verdict . I would suggest Devouring Light in place of Pillar of Light .
August 24, 2014 11:36 a.m.
Thank you Kioji17 I didn't know about the Brave the Elements and Supreme Verdict thing and I completely skipped over the fact that Banishing Light is not an aura. Thank you for cleaning up my mistakes. I also agree with your Devouring Light , thank you I will update my description in a bit.

Deicide ? Cuz it would get rid of Erebos or any other gods that r in ur way..

I'm building a similar deck. The cards I've been looking at that you don't have are Ajani Steadfast , Congregate , Staff of the Sun Magus .
How do you plan to address control decks? I guess Gods Willing works as a counterspell.
I haven't seen much in the KoT spoilers that benefits this deck much.
