Sideboard

After the sad cycle of Super Friendly Grixis (Updating With FNM Results), I've been trying to bring Grixis back into Standard. So far, this seems to be running very smoothly.

Optimal Turn Plays:

Turn 1:
- Play a land, preferable one that comes in tapped and gains a life (Swiftwater Cliffs). If I have a starting hand with access land and Magmatic Insight, draw two cards. Fiery Impulse is also an option.

Turn 2:
- Best option, play Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  . Can Fiery Impulse or Bile Blight if spot removal is needed. Otherwise wait and go for a wipe turn 3/4.

Turn 3:
- At this point we are hoping for one of two scenarios.
- Scenario 1: They are playing aggro and Anger of the Gods is in our hand.
- Scenario 2: We have a Sphinx's Tutelage or Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver in our hand and they do not have a strong board advantage.

Turn 4:
- Same as turn three, except Languish is now an option. If we have Sphinx's Tutelage out and are not threatened by there board, it's time to start drawing cards. With 4 mana open we can draw between 3 (including draw for the turn) and 8 cards milling a minimal of 6-16 cards. A few different ways to draw 8 cards:
- 1: Drawstep (1 Card), Magmatic Insight(3 Cards-1 Land), Tormenting Voice(5 Cards-3 Land), Treasure Cruise(8 Cards-4 Lands).
- 2: Drawstep (1 Card), Magmatic Insightx2(5 Cards-2 Land), Treasure Cruise(8 Cards-3/4 Lands).
- 3: Drawstep (1 Card), Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  (2 Cards), Magmatic Insight/ Tormenting Voice(4 Cards-1/2 Lands), ext...

Turn 5+:
- At this point we should have drawn enough cards to have a guaranteed Sphinx's Tutelage, if not 2 or 3. We should have sufficient removal and lands. The access cards drawn that we didn't need have been discarded by Dark Deal, Magmatic Insight, and Tormenting Voice. We use the cards in our graveyard for Treasure Cruise, or we -3 Jace, Telepath Unbound to recycle cards. It's not uncommon to mill the opponent 40+ cards turn 6+ with ONLY 2 Sphinx's Tutelage in play.

Side Board
- This is pretty straight forward. Board control to answer different deck styles, Negate, Dark Deal, Duress, and Disdainful Stroke for control match-ups. I've found aggro to be such a threat that most of my answers are main boarded now. Negate and Kolaghan's Command are sided vs Orbs of Warding.

A Few Notes
Dig Through Time is in here for consistency. It is just a dig for that card we need. I found Alhammarret's Archive to be too slow. By the time it is playable, we have already won or are close enough that it doesn't need to be played. My biggest threats right now are Orbs of Warding and Azban Aggro, cause it's just a broken deck right now.
