Hey, I have a very not budget list for gisa and geralf but it's full of combos if you need any ideas:Life is Milling Me.
My suggestions from your list are to be careful adding Noxious Ghoul since it kills your commander. I like Living Death as a board wipe instead. Also Stitcher Geralf and Liliana, Heretical Healer Flip could be replaced imo.

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. dlamars, I like your suggestions on Living Death and Noxious Ghoul, and I was wavering on Liliana. I do want to keep Stitcher Geralf, for flavor and theme.
KeelHaul10, good suggestions. I didn't know how well Endless Ranks of the Dead would work. Soulquake looks like a winner! Which Liliana are you referring to?
And a side note on the mana base: it will change. I've got dual lands to run, just have to dig them out. I will update it soon.

I'm referring to Liliana Vess. Shes pretty budget (~$7 USD) and can have a game winning ult. Personally, Endless Ranks of the Dead is my favorite zombie card. Glad Soulquake works for you

I've been thinking about it for a while, and I left out Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar, and I think I may need those for sac outlets and combos, especially if Rooftop Storm is taken out.
Also, a question about Rooftop Storm. Does its ability work with the cards I cast from the graveyard with Gisa and Geralf, and with Gravecrawler's ability? Both abilities are a "casting," just from an alternate zone, it should count, right?

@bushido_man96 with Rooftop Storm, you should be able to freecast zombies with Gisa and Geralf's ability as well as Gravecrawler. That's why Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar work so well with Rooftop Storm and Gravecrawler/ your commander

Great, thanks. That what I was thinking, too, but I never know for sure. I guess I need to make few more cuts then to work them in.

Ok, dlamars, I have to thank you for posting the link to your deck. It gave me a few other ideas to look at. I was considering running Intruder Alarm in this deck, but thought otherwise as I would be untapping everyone's creatures when I bring in a zombie. But with the combo you mentioned with Ghoulcaller Gisa, that is not a bad trade at all! So its going in. I also need to figure out the other changes to make, and get this put together.
I think with Intruder Alarm going in, I can take out the Thornbite Staff. I also still need to fit in the Altars. I do believe I'll drop Noxious Ghoul, and I found another decent tutor to fit the deck: Noble Benefactor. Yes, it helps out the other players, but I can live with that at the budget price, and I have some on hand, and he synergizes with the sacrificing in the deck, so getting rid of him can be a same turn thing.
So, now the foundation is laid. I'll take any and all help with making the switches.
Thank you guys so far for all the help!

Should check out Almond Cat, and specifically Lord of the Accursed
Lots of fun zombies in the new set :D

I like him, another lord for the deck. Thanks for the suggestion! I've ordered up a bulk of the cards now (the mana base killed me!), so I hope to finish it up within the next month or so and then finally test it out.

Hey what do you think of Bontu's Monument and Gate to the Afterlife? I'm kinda digging them as a backup to Diregraf Captain.
Embalmer's Tools also seems cool with Undead Alchemist. Lotta cool stuff in the new set really.

I do like the synergy those cards offer. I've been thinking of buying a box of Amonkhet, even though I don't play standard. Its just nice to get some new stuff, plus its a nice way to collect the legends and planeswalkers. I will put these in the maybeboard.

bushido_man96 Honestly with the prices after release it's better to just buy singles for Amonkhet. The average prices is like 1-3$, with only a handful over 10.

Ah, that's good to know. Thanks a bunch. On the same subject, do you think its worth while to buy a box of MM17?

bushido_man96 says... #16
No, I don't do that. My meta is essentially what I have built and play with my boys at home. But, for a chance to get some of the cards that I missed out on while I was absent might be worthwhile.
May 4, 2017 5:14 p.m.
I'd personally go for a box of Amonkhet over MM17. MM17 is too expensive, the chances of being better off with a box vs buying singles is slim. Amonkhet may not have a lot of money rares/mythics but the set just seems good to me. So much of it is playable and cycling is a fun mechanic, I also believe cards like Anointed Procession and Shadow of the Grave will in the long run gain value. Just my 2 cents

Why not use Carrion Feeder + Gravecrawler + Rooftop Storm For am infinite big creature? With this the counters stay on Carrion Feeder. Add in a Altar of Dementia and you have yourself an infinite mill combo.

bushido_man96 says... #22
Yep, that combo is in there, too, I just didn't get it listed above. Same with Nantuko Husk. Carrion Feeder is nice because the counters stay, so could have longer life, where Nantuko Husk is more of a "win this turn" effect. I should consider adding in Rogue's Passage, just in case someone has a blocker out.
I'll add those combos to my description above.

How did I never realize Ghoulcaller Gisa and Intruder Alarm were a thing?!
Super cool; I like how much thought you put into this.
May I ask: Have you ever regretted the decision of playing Gisa and Geralf over something like The Scarab God ?
What makes the siblings better or more fun in your opinion?
December 4, 2019 4:17 a.m.
bushido_man96 says... #24
Basically, the fact that it's cheaper. And less of a threat. The fun for me is in the flavor. The Scarab God would be more threatening, for sure.
December 4, 2019 4:43 a.m.
True, I have heard complaints that The Scarab God 's global burn effect causes the table to target you pretty quickly... and thank you for the fast reply!
I've always wanted a deck that could amass a horde of zombies to swarm my foes with and, as far as I've seen, I believe you're one of the people who did it best. +1!
KeelHaul10 says... #1
Gisa and Geralf are BEAST. But this is a token deck, so why no Endless Ranks of the Dead? Would you consider a cheap Liliana for flavor? Also, I always upvote a zombie deck w/ Rooftop Storm, but does Soulquake combo sound appealling to you? Play your hand/grave/boardstate for free while bouncing everyone elses?
