Here, this should make you feel deader.

In case you cannot understand what the hell this deck is trying to do, check out the rules text on Tainted Remedy. Then look at Beacon of Immortality. Yup, that's an insta-win right there.

CARD BREAKDOWN

WINCONS

  • Tainted Remedy: the whole deck becomes pointless without this. Nearly all the other cards give your opponents some amount of life; with this in play, they deal damage instead. It's that simple.

  • Beacon of Immortality: if this resolves, it's GG. Period. The opponent's life may be at one, five, twenty, a hundred thousand, whatever - once they get Beacon-Remedy'd, their life becomes exactly zero.

  • Alms Beast : with Tainted Remedy in play, you make sure you always get six points of damage through, be it attacking or blocking. Without Tainted Remedy... it's still a 6/6 for 4 mana, which is pretty darn good. Giving blockers lifelink shouldn't be too much of a problem - you have a card that depletes their life all at once, remember?

ENCHANTMENTS

CREATURES

  • Mesa Enchantress: needs no explanation. Really, just look at how many enchantments I'm running.

  • Aegis of the Gods: yes, this is Leyline of Sanctity on a stick. It's an enchantment creature, so Greater Auramancy keeps it from dying to removal.

  • Wall of Shards: big, cheap and able to fly. You can't ask for much more from a Wall. And I won't even bother explaining why the upkeep cost is actually good to our strategy - by now, you probably already got the hang of it.

OTHER SPELLS

  • Idyllic Tutor: fetches stuff I need. Costs more mana than it should, but it's a Modern legal tutor, so that should be expected.

  • Condemn: because we don't need Path to Exile when we don't care about other people's life total.

LANDS

  • Grove of the Burnwillows: a G/R land in a B/W deck? Yup, because we splash green from the sideboard AND it gives the opponent life! Meaning, it's yet another way to abuse Tainted Remedy!

  • Boseijuu, Who Shelters All: you don't want to look like a fool when your Beacon of Immortality gets countered, do you?
