Creature (1)

This is a Khans standard Grixis control deck. I've been using these colors during the Theros standard "season" and now that Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker is our main character so far for Khans, I thought that taking grixis can become even stronger. I got some inspiration to keep this deck mainly because the deck in my eyes represents Sarkhan becoming controlled and sinister just like Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas by Nicole Bolas, Planeswalker. So with that in mind, lets get started.

The deck focuses around controlling the board and keeping your opponent at by, while trying to get your win cons out and preventing them from doing anything. With that, you want to make sure you are able to keep your opponent under duress while you are able to keep all of their win cons or answers out of possibility.

Cards like Anger of the Gods and Silence the Believers are key when it comes to creature based strategies. They are very good at clearing the board, or picking off annoying creatures. With Khans, a lot of creatures will not have 4 toughness or higher, so Anger of the Gods will be amazing removal for the new standard, and for (kind of) 1 more mana, Silence the Believers can get rid of those higher toughness creatures like Master of the Feast, Courser of Kruphix, Insert any of the Gods and all of the Big Green Creatures.

In a Control game, you've got the obvious playset of Thoughtseize. A must have for any control deck running black solely because you can see their hand, take out a win con or stall them. It also allows you to take creatures if needed. Mindswipe late game will turn the tide for you if needed. It's like a Syncopate but with a x cost burn element. It's insane and feels great to use.

So win cons, lets talk about that. Keranos, God of Storms, Prognostic Sphinx and Stormbreath Dragon as creatures are all viable win cons. and at the least will do some significant damage to your opponent and make them have to answer them.

Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker is a very strong win con, and is essentially a clock if not dealt with.

Hope you all like the deck, be sure to comment good or bad and up vote if you do indeed like it!
