Abzan Walkers

Card Choices:

Creatures:

Courser of Kruphix/Sylvan Caryatid are obvious choices for any Midrange/Control deck running green. They provide mana fixing, additional draw and are early blockers against aggro.

Siege Rhino is an absolute house and probably one of the best cards from Khans. He can come down early and shut down aggro, provides a 6 point life swing and the trample prevents him from being chump blocked. His 5 toughness also prevents him from just dying to stoke the flames.

Planeswalkers:

Nissa will almost exclusively be used as a 4/4 assembly worker as there are only 3 forests in the deck to untap. Thats not really too bad a downside as she will usually just finish games if unanswered. She also can just come down and start making blockers while you try to stabilize.

Ajani has been great in testing and can start digging for threats or other walkers to close out the game or can be used to pump your team if you already have a board presence. He is a great role player and I have been considering adding an extra one to the deck, Im just not sure what to cut.

Elspeth is just a great finisher and if you are in a bind can clear the board of big threats. Her minus ability doesnt synergize well with Nissa but if you have them both out, you are probably in a pretty good spot and can just make soldiers anyway.

Garruk can provide a great lock in any walkers mirror, preventing them from casting their own walkers before dealing with him. If you are ahead you can just start making beasts, otherwise you can use him to kill a creature and gain some life, hopefully buying you time to stabilize. How good Garruk turns out to be will depend a lot on how fast the format is.

Sorceries:

Thoughtseizeany questions? Could end up swapping it for Despise later in the format if it becomes a creature/planeswalker slugfest, but as of now the safest bet is to pay 2 life and take whatever you want.

Instants:

Abzan Charm is great, it removes a lot of the threats you are worried about, and if you are playing control or just need to dig for a threat it can do that too. The third mode is much less relevant but I am sure it will come in handy sometimes, especially seeing as Siege Rhino has trample. I havent played with it enough to know exactly how many of the charms I want to play, but wont be surprised if the number goes up, rather than down.

Bile Blight is there for aggro but it can provide opportunities for Coursers to ambush larger threats.

Heros Downfall kills whatever you want for a pretty good price.

Murderous Cut is unconditional removal that usually only costs 5 if you want it to. In a deck like this, that is trading a lot of cards 1 for 1, the graveyard is usually pretty well stocked and with fetches and Thoughtseize it isn't inconceivable to have it cost 3 mana on turn 3.

Utter End is played as Downfall number 5 and 6. It has also taken the place of Banishing Light.

Lands: I am running 10 come into play tapped lands, 8 of which are scrylands. The mana base has been working really well and I am reliably able to cast Courser on turn 3 or hold Downfall up if needed. Building a solid 3 colour mana base is pretty new to me so any advice is appreciated.

SideboardI haven't really put together a sideboard for the deck just yet, I could see myself playing some number of Drown in Sorrow/Bile Blight/Last Breath in the side for aggro. 2x Despise in the board could be an option as well. Other options are Erebos for Abzan mirrors to shut down their coursers/Rhinos and potentially Liliana for control.

What do you think? Any suggestions would be welcome, especially regarding the mana base, removal suite and sideboard options.
