1st night playing the deck competitively, went 2-2 in terms of wins to losses.
1st game 2-1 Dimir Mill (Pete) This guy had built his deck solidly, but there just wasn't enough removal. I used Mending Touch to keep him at bay and my Fog kept his Consuming Aberration from blitzkrieging me. He won 1 game with a lucky mind grind that my last land was on the bottom of my deck. But mostly he couldn't keep up with my monsters. 1-0 to me.
2nd game 0-2 Esper Control (Phil) I was winning both games decisively until lo and behold he played Worst Fears and I sat and cried as he discarded my entire hand to my Prognostic Sphinx and looked through my sideboard, leaving me with no surprises or win conditions, I had to topdeck and with no Coursers of Kruphix I couldn't deck thin, so note, Weak Vs Control. 1-1
3rd game 2-0 Bant Control/Aggro? (Mike) I didn't quite know what this deck was doing, he played Turn 1 Soldier of the Pantheon into a Turn 2 Voice of Resurgance, but his deck had all the U/W control elements, Detention Spheres, Supreme Verdict, Sphinx's Revelation etc. But as before, he couldn't keep up with the Monsters. 2-1
4th game Esper Control AGAIN! (Craig) Looks like people have been Netdecking again... I sat and cried as he used ashiok to steal my land, Verdicts and D Spheres at every opportunity and my Mistcutters had him dead, but then he remembered he had a Mutavault which he blocked with and survived, top decking Elspeth after that -_- next game pretty much the same thing, but I got battered by an Aetherling. 2-2 Note: WEAK VS CONTROL! SIDEBORAD AGAINST CONTROL!
