This deck isn't competitive.

Dude_3, that's rude. I've seen versions of this at my lgs, and it does pretty well. I'd say it's probably a tier ~2 deck, which in my book, is pretty competitive.

Dude_3 Finished 13th at gp Charlotte last year and has had several 4-0 showings on MTGO Leagues so I think that qualifies as a Competitive budget deck...

1 GP and a couple leagues doesn't equal a competitive deck given how many people have been playing it and the time period in which it has been played. It's tier 2.5 at best.

Dude_3 is it going to win a GP or an Open? Probably not in the foreseeable future. But it can easily be competitive at LGS events.

But you can think what you wish, you are entitled to your own opinion

I guess the idea here is to control the board whilst building up weenies, then dropping down sun titan to bring em back?

blankmaskara Pretty much, it helps when things have Etb abilities as to add value to the re-occurrence

Hey, love to see a cool build for Titan Control. I'd love to pick your brain about a few things if that's alright.

First, how have the Reflector Mages been working for you? I've noticed that your build seems to have good tempo to stall the game rather than the normal line of "I'll gain life and chump things", although you certainly have that line as well. What factors led to that?

Second, how has the deck performed with 22 lands? I've been looking into a lot of Titan Control builds recently while piecing together what I think Titan Control should look like, and most lists I see run 23-24 lands. Have you experienced flooding out too often or is there another reason you decided on that number?

Lastly, how has Relic of Progenitus worked for you in the sideboard? It is typically a nice SB card in modern, but seeing that you rely on your graveyard in the lategame, it strikes me as an odd choice. Do you feel that getting the card draw is just better than a 1 sided effect like Tormod's Crypt? Speaking of gravehate, what do you think of Surgical Extraction? It is instant speed grave hate with a surprise factor (while Relic and Crypt can activate at instant speed your opponent knows it's coming), and you get information on your opponent's entire deck and hand, meaning you get to know what they sideboarded against you. It also seems really good against some of the deck's weaker matchups such as Tron and combo, where you can take away Tron or another win condition.

If possible, let me know what you think. Good luck with the brew!

hello, glad you liked it!First about the Reflector Mages i gotta say that they turn aggro match ups into almost a free win, the deck is already good vs aggro this pushes it over the top.

Lands are somthing i have looked in to adding more of, the way it is now Emeria almost becomes a secondary win con next to titian.I am still thinking of adding more.

Lastly, relic seemed to work pretty good vs everything except dredge, i used it primarily to spin a card each turn to shrink goyf that my friend played in his jund deck. after playing it in more tournaments, i cant probably say that Surgical Extraction would probably be better.

And i love answering and talking about magic, i dont get to play much any more.
