The mana cost was just a little too steep. It's fine card, and may end up going back in the list at some point.

Very nice +1. Could you review and upvote my St Traft Azorius Control?

So besides Helm of Obedience + Rest in Peace how do you actually win with this deck? Just hard lock people?
August 13, 2016 10 p.m.
@RandomMagicPlayer: If you'll read the description, you'll see that the main win condition is actually Strionic Resonator. It + any combination of mana rocks that tap for 2 or more + any one of about ten permanents in the deck results in one or more of the following:
Infinite mana.
Infinite card draw (Oath of Jace, Mentor of the Meek, Tsabo's Web, Stupifying Touch).
Infinite creature removal (Grasp of Fate, Parallax Wave).
Infinite permanent of any kind removal (Rishadan Cutpurse, Footpad, and Brigand. Venser, Shaper Savant).
While none of those combos win the game on the spot, most of them force an unwinnable board state for your opponents. Having 0 permanents in play while I have full access to my entire library simply can't be recovered from. Also, the card draw assembles RiP + Helm + enough untap effects to kill 3+ opponents at once.

May I ask what are the functions of Chain of Vapor, Jace's Archivist and Windfall in this deck?
August 16, 2016 2:05 a.m.
Chain of Vapor: Efficient removal.
Jace's Archivist: Card Draw.
Windfall: See above.

The tanglewire link you have in your description leads to a players wall, just so that you know. And by the way, I'm loving the deck. I haven't played it, iv only seen it so far. My only thing is that I'm kind of broke (that comes with being 13 and having no allowance) so if you could suggest some subs for the pricier cards, such as time twister, that would be nice. This deck will defiantly help me beak into competitive EDH, its just a "bit" pricy. (the max price I might be able to have a card be is roughly $20. maaayybe $30 if I'm really lucky.) Thanks for your help if you choose to do so.

dont worry I have some cheap cards that function the same.
Mana Crypt and City of Traitors-->any 2 time walk effects
Mishra's Workshop--> Laboratory Maniac
Tundra--> Chromatic Lantern (that way you can just run basics. much cheaper
Fetches--> basics.
Mox Opal, Sensei's Divining Top, Transmute Artifact can just be more playgroup hate/more stax/more manarocks/graveyard shenanigans
i used to be in the same place. really all brago needs is strionic res, mana rocks and a way to win.A cheap way could be lab man+temple bell. That or just run a "group hug" stax until you get your combos (jace belerin, teferi temporal archmage, venser the sojourner, anvil of boggardin, howling mine, font of mythos).
Long live the king!

@chaosumbreon87: Time Magic is bad in Brago.
Time Spiral isn't super great here since we're so light on lands. I would recommend Consecrated Sphinx or Recurring Insight before it.
The replacement for FoW is Swan Song. Misdirection isn't great here since it doesn't stop a lot of what we care about.
Mana Drain can be replaced either by another cheap counterspell like Arcane Denial or Counterspell itself, or dropped for another almost playable card like Reflector Mage.
Laboratory Maniac is bad here. It isn't needed. Workshop can just be replaced by another basic, or City of Brass/Mana Confluence.
Otherwise, solid replacement advice.

With Sanctum Prelate, what numbers are you focused on declaring versus different decks? I imagine Cyclonic Rift is a high priority to stop, as are doomsday combos.
August 22, 2016 9:29 a.m.
I haven't had much opportunity to live-test the deck since putting Prelate in, since it was spoiled so recently, and since it hasn't been added to Cockatrice yet. However, most of the time Prelate it set between 0 and 4. If it's coming down in the midgame, 4 stops The Chain Veil in Teferi, Dread Return in Hermit Druid, Pattern of Rebirth in Karador, and Deep Analysis against Sultai Druid. 3 stops Food Chain for Prossh/Tazri, Doomsday for Zur/Jeleva, and a lot of misc. annoying effects Brago hates seeing like Aura of Silence and Aura Shards. 2 stops a lot of artifact ramp, as well as Strionic Resonator in the mirror match, Cyclonic Rift in every blue deck, and large number of counterspells (often relevant against Edric). It also blocks Null Rod and Stony Silence, which Brago obviously hates to no end. 1 basically stops Storm decks like Jeleva in their tracks if Prelate comes down early enough, since a huge chunk of the deck's critical ramp, draw, and relevant spells are CMC 1, including a large number of counterspells once again.

Is there any Reason not to play Reality Acid in this Deck? Apart from the first one, it is untargeted, undestructive permanent removal and it can go (obviously) infinite with Strionic Resonator. It might just target one Player, but it is so good...
August 22, 2016 4:45 p.m.
@TheBerkut The biggest issue I have with Acid is that it's basically useless without Brago. If he can't be accessed, it's an almost entirely dead card.

Im not sure if this was answered before but thoughts on D sphere, O ring, Angel of Serenity, etc effects? Decent permanent removal (in both ways) and d sphere/ring hit the annoying Gideon (or chad if that name is accepted enough)
August 22, 2016 9:46 p.m.
Grasp of Fate is currently in because it hits multiple targets every time. I didn't feel the need for more O-ring effects beyond that. The deck runs enough other answers that going deeper in that aspect is unnecessary.

How do you feel about the new kaladesh inventors fair card?
September 2, 2016 11:42 a.m.
Not a huge fan. The cost is a bit steep for a tutor, and lifegain isn't a priority. Having it enter untapped is nice though. I might end up testing it, but at the moment I'm on the fence.
September 2, 2016 11:59 a.m.
What do you think about untappers such as Cloud of Faeries? They do not provide The ramping of the Mana Rocks, but instead do a great job at giving you Mana in your second Main Phase. You can also use Parallax Tide for this Purpose, as ist first brings back your lands untapped (not so great with Hallowed Fountain), then deprive your opponents of some mana (although it can't take more than one player out)
September 3, 2016 7:29 a.m.
Generally Brago does a good enough job of providing mana on the second main phase by himself via artifact untapping. Land untappers haven't been needed. This was made doubly true since many Brago lists run MLD in the form of Armageddon/Ravages.
Parallax Tide was actually in the earlier iteration of the deck, but was cut for lack usefulness. It was so rarely the best line of play that it just wasn't worth keeping.

sorry if this is repeated but what are your thoughts on Captured by the Consulate, Dramatic reversal, Foundry Inspector and new camel (not really compeditive but new camel is new camel). camel on the less serious end and the other 3 for nice techs. Mostly I can only see foundry inspector from these but thoughts anyone?
September 19, 2016 9:03 a.m.
Captured by the Consulate: Doesn't offer any useful advantage. If it drew a card on EtB, absolutely, but as is....
Dramatic reversal: More of a storm card. While the effect is quite strong, Brago prefers repeated engines.
Foundry Inspector: At one point, the deck ran Etherium Sculptor, but it was cut for lack of effectiveness. Inspector costs 1 more.

Hey, I really like your list, but there is something that bugs me: Is there any reason you don't use the third member of the Rishadan Family, Rishadan Brigand? It should curve out perfectly after casting Brago, King Eternal...
