This deck is trying to utilize the powerful "graveyard spells matter" drakes: Enigma Drake and Crackling Drake. I started out with just UR, but it felt soft to control and had very little interaction. Splashing black felt nearly free with the current state of mana, and the hand disruption provided by Thought Erasure as well as Duress out of the sideboard greatly improved the deck vs control. Since this is a tempo deck, the removal is mainly bounce. There are some Lightning Strikes to kill early creatures or close out the game, and a ton of card draw in the form of Opt,
Chart a Course
, and the surprisingly powerful Risk Factor. Four copies of Discovery / Dispersal double as yard-filling card draw early, and a way to bounce their Doom Whisperer in the late game to get in with your fliers. The common turn sequence of T1 Opt, T2 Discovery / Dispersal while dumping two spells off surveil, allows for a T3 4/4 Enigma Drake. Three copies of
dive down
provide some cheap protection against removal heavy decks.
The sideboard has a full 4 copies of Disdainful Stroke and an extra
River's Rebuke
for the big green matchups, 4 copies of Duress for the control/midrange matchup, and Fiery Cannonade for the aggro matchup.
Any and all feedback would be welcomed and much appreciated.
