4 Polluted Delta and 4 Watery Grave + Bitterblossom would kill me before my opponent could, I opted to take the shocks out for that reason and use 1 Watery Grave and 1 Polluted Delta instead, just to fix when I do need that fixing, I might expand this to 2 fetches in the future but anymore seems like suicide and I have no clue what to take out for it other than basic lands and I rather like this setup in case of Blood Moon.
I considered AEther Vial for a while, but I would need it at multiple counters to make it efficient or keep it at SSS cost which I don't think is worth it, I think this is why the card works so well in Merfolk but not in Fae. Plus I don't think I run enough creatures to make it worthwhile.
I very much agree with the discard split, I would run 3~4 IOK and a one-off of Thoughtseize If I had them!
I am very much thinking about putting in a second Chalice of the Void into SB though after reading what Portfolio said in the thread I posted in. (Especially as I was already thinking about doing this!)
I might throw in a Tombstalker in place of that third Cryptic Command. Seems like a good creature to delve for and swing with to finish stuff up, would be better if it had lifelink though. If my Graveyard hasn't been exiled already at least by that point.

2 chalices is a good idea- Theres a guy that absolutely tears it up at my LGS with that. Set that puppy to 1 and destroy delver,..zoo,..infect etc..anything thats predominately 1-drops. Thats why it rocketed to 20+ each. Its the bloodmoon for decks that dont run red lol.

4 Fetches and 4 Shockswill not kill you, I run 9 fetches and 5 shocks.
Creeping Tar Pit isn't worth it in my opinion. 4 Basics in a 2 colour deck that has largely blue cards with a small splash.
You are not a Control deck, More creatures is better , Scion and Mistbind represent a massive clock and can potentially lock the opponent out ofthe game for long enough to just kill them.
The swords arenot worth it as you would rather be holding up Fae mana or countermagic.

Bijschjdbcd- do you run a fae deck? or are you just guessing at it? As far as i know (and ive been reamed by skilled fae players) Fae is control. And nearly all fae decks run tar pit as a finish. Its land-go. Your keeping faeries in your hand to counter etc while your bitterblossom passively presents threats. Another thing- nearly all faerie decks run swords too....

As stated in my first comment, No, I have not. But in general there are some basic deck building tips which I feel comfortable providing.
I would accept that dismissing it as a control deck may be wrong however it is more Control/Tempo and not straight Control.
Maybe im just out of the Loop but Fire Ice seems like the better one to run.

If you want to be precise. UB fae is aggro control. 12 creature fae is attrition version. I need the manlands (tarpits and mutavaults) to get in damage or even chump block. Not playing them would be ruining my own chances at winning a game.
Sword of Fire and Ice is actually too slow from what I have noticed, since I used to run one in the past. The only sword I would consider is Sword of Light and Shadow but then I'd have to weigh it up against Batterskull
4 fetches and 4 shocks WILL kill me with things like Thoughtseize and my main engine Bitterblossom. I'm comfortable with sacrificing life, just not with killing myself enough that my opponent needs to get 1 hit in and need 1 more faerie token to kill myself. I used to run 4 shocks and that was already too much. I'm not going to run 4 fetches and 4 shocks in a deck that can't sustain them. This is not UWR control or a deck that wins fast and can throw away life without much thought in their race to turn 3 to see the outcome of the game.

Tempo is aggro-control.
Although aggro-control is a poor way of wording it.

Any thoughts on using Murderous Cut instead of, say, Disfigure? or just anywhere, the cards done huge work in my deck. Admittedly a very different deck but it's a good way to exploit your graveyard which you don't currently have as far as I can see.

I like Murderous Cut. I just haven't thought about what I would replace it with yet...

Uhm... I believe Sword of Light and Shadow would be more convenient here than Sword of Feast and Famine, since you need lifegain to counter Bitterblossom lifeloss. Or at least Basilisk Collar. ;)

Sword of Light and Shadow should definitely go in the deck, I agree.Added to Maybeboard because I always forget to add it. The only reason I run 2x SoFaF is because I have 2, if I had a LaS one I would totally run 1x FaF and 1x FaS.

Haha dude I've been looking at this as one of my inspiring decks for the fae deck you've been commenting on! I didn't realize it was yours lol +1

+1, This looks annoying to go up against! How are your match ups against Affinity or Tron by chance?
May 30, 2015 1:13 p.m.
Tron isn't that bad if I open up with at least 2 discard spells and can keep them from using Expedition Map and/or can Tectonic Edge them. I haven't really played against Affinity yet sadly but I assume I'll have to go for game 2 and board in Chalice of the Void, drop it for 0 and hope for a slow hand on their side and a early Bitterblossom on mine...? I should really put in 1~2 Hurkyl's Recall into my SB. Especially since I finally got 2 due to MMA2015.

pulled two Clique, a Bitterblossom & a cryptic command for MM2k15 pulls. Really tempted to trade off some of my other pulls to try & build me some Fae. Deck looks like an absurd amount of fun.keep updating as you build progresses!cheers!

LUCK
Hope it helps! If/when I start building fae I might come asking pestering questions.
June 3, 2015 7:03 p.m.
Sure, feel free to pester me in the same way a faerie would. With a toothpick.
June 4, 2015 6:01 a.m.
Nice, we have pretty similar builds. +1
I got talked into cutting my smothers now that high cmc threats like tasigur and siege rhino are running around. How have you been finding them of late?
I also made the switch recently from leaks to remands, do you like the remands?
June 5, 2015 9:08 p.m.
I dropped leaks real quick with the thought of putting 1 in the sideboard which I did not end up doing (so far). Remand does more than Mana Leak usually does for me. It also replaces itself and by Heliod do we need card draw.
The moment I spot a Siege Rhino I'm boarding out Smother(s) or Disfigure for Deathmark. Blow that stupid thing up and not look back. When they try to resolve Tasigur I hope to have something to counter it or to fuel Murderous Cut with.
June 6, 2015 9:15 a.m.
OMG you mentioned Tasigur my faerie deck went up against Grixis Delver with that guy opponent delves 5 deep to cast him. Mana leak ah. Joy.
June 6, 2015 11:05 a.m.
The joy, the tears, the salt. That's what we do it for.

I don't hate having the full four Mistbind and four Scion of Oona in the main as they represent an amazing way to pressure your opponent and potentially "fizzle" removal. Have you considered AEther Vial as a way to uncounterably put creatures into play and hold up counter magic.
2 Cryptic is enough, To slow in the metagame as it stands. The 2-2 Split on discard seems bad, focus it and decide which you want 4 of.
Focusing your mana may be nice aswell, 4 Glen, 4 Polluted, 4 Watery would be where I start.
I wish I could tag someone who has played the deck and can privide an actual Deck and something a little more comprehensive. Hope some of it helps :)
